Help with Primary or Secondary (IB) level Science classes and Mathematics

Graduated from a European International School with scientific baccalaureate, and in my second year of medical studies, I would be happy to support, tutor and provide help to primary or secondary level students with their science, English and/or mathematics classes.
My help could be especially beneficial for international students, but I can support any other students, with whom we could use English as vehicular language. I can be of even greater assistance to students trying to acquire their International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma as I have passed it as well.

I have graduated with top results in my section. My scientific baccalaureate consisted of extensive studies in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math. Currently, as a student of medicine at Maastricht University, I continue deepening my knowledge in the area of the human biology and chemistry.

Despite my limited experience with tutoring children and adolescents, I am very good at explaining complex topics and ideas and have good communication skills. I have had very positive first impressions and have been told that explaining topics to students is something that I can do with great ease.

Although I have limited experience with tutoring children and adolescents, I am able to adapt quickly to different situations and ultimately serve the student in the first place. I am a Master in Informatics and I am passionate about science and especially mathematics (and statistics) because this of course forms the basis for all exact sciences and most human sciences.

I can teach 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade secondary education (ASO / TSO / BSO / KSO) student and university students, make exercises and go over and supervise together throughout the learning process.

I hold an academic bachelor's degree in Mathematics with distinction and a master's degree in Data Science & Biostatistics with great distinction from Hasselt University. I also have a degree in acting and am a former scout leader (so I have some experience with children). I also worked as a full-time 3rd-grade math teacher for some time. I am currently a PhD candidate in statistics at Hasselt University and teach statistics in various bachelor's programs.

We'll explore the problems in a pleasant, relaxed manner, and I'll focus on guiding students through the material, rather than blindly applying it as quickly as possible. Thanks to my years of experience, I also have plenty of exercises and sample exams available.

As a chemistry teacher, it is of course always nice to help people with difficulties outside of school.
I personally teach students with learning difficulties, which often makes it easy to identify problems and work on them.
I am someone who is very easy to communicate with, which makes it easier to stay interested and process the learning material.

My knowledge of chemistry is quite extensive. Both organic and inorganic chemistry.
I mainly teach in the 1st and 2nd grades (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th secondary school).
I have a lot of teaching materials and methods to help you master the material.
Even if you have a huge backlog (e.g. due to switching a course of study), it is no problem (provided enough effort) to help you get started.

Aansluitend aan het nivo van de leerling geef ik op een praktische en ontspannen manier les. Vanuit de ontspanning en motivatie ontstaan de mooiste inzichten.

Het 'nivo' van de leerling vind ik het minst interessante, want mijn passie ligt in het ondersteunen en helpen van de leerling omgeacht haar/zijn nivo.
WE kunnen het financieel aantrekkelijker maken wanneer je met 2 of 3 samen bijlessen volgt. Dit of andere vragen : gewoon even bellen, dan overleggen we erover.

As an experienced teacher with 8 years of experience, I offer personal and targeted tutoring for primary school students in Dutch and mathematics. My approach is always tailored to the child, taking into account the specific needs and requirements of each student.

My working method:
Individual approach: Every child is unique. That is why I start with a short introduction to find out where the student needs extra support.

Support with current lessons: I help with understanding and practicing the material offered in class, so that the child gains more self-confidence and can follow better at school.

Additional exercises and worksheets: I provide additional material tailored to your needs, such as learning through play, worksheets, etc. to help you understand the subject matter better.

Automating knowledge: Some skills, such as learning tables, divisions and letter recognition, require extra practice. Through repetition and playful methods I ensure that this knowledge sticks better.

I have over ten years of experience providing individual tutoring at home in science subjects. I always tailor the content of the tutoring sessions to the students' needs. During the first tutoring session, I focus primarily on getting to know the student and any challenges they encounter, by asking questions about their school situation and observing how they engage with the material. Then, I always focus on explaining the material and, if necessary, offering work methods or even tricks that can help the student complete assignments. By asking the right questions, I then guide the student on the path to solving the assignments, gradually building their confidence. Besides working hard, I always strive to create a relaxed atmosphere.
The most important factor for the success of tutoring is the student's motivation. This requires good cooperation between parents, child, and teacher. Therefore, I often take the time to communicate with parents about the progress of the tutoring and the student's progress.

I always prefer to provide tutoring on a regular basis (e.g. 1 lesson per week).
It is also possible to request one or two lessons as additional support for a test or exam.
For exam students, I can also, if necessary, set up an intensive exam training course over a limited number of weeks.
