Hi, I'm Kate! I've taught piano, music theory and music composition since 2014, and I'm studying music at masters level at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
I pride myself on my empathetic and patient approach, while also encouraging students to do their best and aim high. My students have gone on to do well in their exams and win competitions.

If you or your children are starting piano, I can provide beginner's books, which you can buy from me at a discounted rate. I can teach children in English or Dutch, and adults in English.

I teach piano, composition and music theory. I welcome students of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities. Never feel that it is too late to start learning music, even if you've never learnt it before :) My particular specialism is the classical repertoire, piano technique (scales, arpeggios, technical exercises) and pop songs. I pride myself on my empathetic and patient approach, while encouraging new directions and challenges. I don't teach jazz piano, or children aged 5 or younger. Don't hesitate to get in touch.

I have taught piano and composition since 2014. In 2013 I won the Arthurs Bliss Prize for Composition and my works have been performed in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, the Southbank Centre, St John's Smith Square and the National Concert Hall of Ireland.
