I am a 17 year old student in sixth form, and I take part in singing lessons myself. I've been going to singing lessons for 5 years, and also regularly attend multiple choirs in my school. I have also done duets and performed live multiple times in school concerts (my most recent performance was as a backing singer for my friend who won a song writing competition and performed it live for the Mayor of Ealing in a celebration assembly - for anyone interested, the song is on Spotify: it is called You've Changed by Erin O'Sullivan).

Learning to sing can have quite an impact on many aspects of your life. Of course, it brings a lot of joy but it can also help with building confidence, help you relax and it’s also known to be beneficial to your health!

In my classes, I want to work on these things and help you become the singer you want to be. My music lessons do not necessarily have the aim to make you “better” but to guide you on your individual music journey. That is why we establish in the first classes what your style and your aspirations are and based on those I tailor a program to meet your needs.

My name is Jonas, I am a professional musician and singer and started my personal music journey over ten years ago. Initially trained from a young age in classical singing, I later moved on to do jazz and contemporary styles and then decided to move to London to study Music Performance and Production at LCCM.

Over the years I came to an important realization. Although music and singing technique is extremely important, the purpose of music is to convey emotion. I feel this is an aspect that is quickly overlooked but makes the difference in being able to make an audience remember you or not. These aspects of the authenticity of voice and performance I focus on in my classes.

It doesn’t matter which age or which singing level you currently are - everyone is welcome in my classes. I truly believe that anyone can sing and that everyone should experience the joy of singing.

In the singing lesson we look at breathing, vocal technique, language, expression and interpretation. I take much pleasure in watching a student grow and facilitating their development and helping them on their own path. The most important thing to me is that they enjoy using their voice and telling a story through music.

I have recently graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with a Master of Music degree with distinction. Through the developing of my private practice, I am becoming increasingly interested and deeply passionate about teaching singing and singing pedagogy. For me, music – and especially singing – is all about communication, between performer and audience, between composer and performer/audience, between teacher and student; it is about conveying a story and human emotions that people can relate to and that give us a sense of connection and belonging. This requires not only a deep understanding of technical skills, but also a sensitivity to the text and the way it is set into music, both melodically and harmonically.

In each class, you will choose a song you'd like to learn, and I will suggest a second song to complement your skill development.
