I am a bilingual teacher from Taiwan. I graduated from UCL Institute of Education in London, majoring in TESOL. I have had rich Mandarin and English teaching experience for 10 years in the Netherlands, the UK, and Taiwan. I run private lessons, where all levels are welcome. But if you’re a total beginner then I offer basic classes to help you find the way to get into it.

I develop diverse methods of teaching for the students. For the around 5-8 years old kids, I would like to set certain games to play with them, thereby the kids can learn the new language during the interaction and communication. In this way, different media, like color pictures, puppets, or storybooks are essential to make the course very attractive. For the teenager or advanced students, a structuralized teaching content based on scenarios or textbook could help the students to develop their language capacity efficiently in different aspects – listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Besides, I would like to give a deeper perspective for the Chinese- not only learning the language from the textbooks, but also the knowledge of the language, the culture, and the literature.

Hi! My name is Ye-Eun. I'm from Korea, living in Berlin right now. To me, language is a way to connect with people in deeper and wider level. I have always enjoyed talking to people in different languages and introducing them to a different world through different languages.

I have been teaching for the past 5+ years, and my Korean lessons are one of my favorites! They are structured, practical and dynamic, and I can tell you that you would almost naturally improve your Korean skills with me!

The most important thing when learning a language is to build up your own language corpus and to actually use the language in conversation and in everyday life.
Since I taught myself German, I know the subtle differences between Chinese and German very well – from pronunciation to grammar to the cultural nuances behind them.

In my lessons, I don't use traditional textbooks. I'm much more interested in how you want to learn this language.
In the first lesson, we'll get to know each other through conversation: What do you like to talk about? What would you like to improve? After that, I'll create personalized lessons for you. Each lesson begins with an open conversation in Chinese. Depending on your needs, I'll integrate relevant audio and video materials into the lessons. After each lesson, you'll receive a list of new vocabulary and key points to keep you informed, so you can continuously expand your vocabulary. This is even more helpful if you use Anki :)

Note: This course is not suitable for absolute beginners or for targeted exam preparation.
