In this class I will provide students at any age range/skill level music theory lessons, tutoring, and test preparation for anyone seeking personal growth or academic success. The class will be heavily influenced by the student and I will fit the needs for that student depending on what they need. I will have notes, presentations, assignments, and more to help in the development of the student. This class can be an introduction into the world of music theory or a tutor who need some kind of assistance. This class can also cover music composition lessons and feedback for whatever level of composition you are looking to do.
Información adicional
If coming in person please inform me before hand and bring some kinda of note taking/writing tools. If doing online please be engaged with the lesson. Finally please let me know if you need any assistance for learning disabilities, mental draw backs, or just general information you feel maybe crucial for the learning process.

Hi! My name is Jacob, I am a music education and composition major at Westminster College specializing in saxophone and woodwinds. I am excited to be able to provide my assistance/knowledge to anyone seeking to further their study of music. Music has been my passion for years and i want to share that love and passion with others by hopefully giving to the next generation of musicians the same love for music that I have. I hope you'll consider me for your music making journey :)

- My original compositions have been performed at my school's chamber recital

- I am a member for Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and am the President and Semi Founder of my college’s American String Teacher Association Chapter and Carillon Guild. I have run fundraisers and recruitment events for all organizations and worked with other outside of campus to get these organizations a float

- I have been a camp counselor for the bright futures summer camp hosted at Westminster College during the summer of my freshman year and sophomore year. I was also put in charge of activities ideas and the methods to go about getting these events to be possible for the students. I oversaw contacting the presenters and events hosted by the school.

- I oversaw an environmental science summer camp with local school districts and taught about the environment, bee keeping, and more

- Participated in multiple film/composition projects (Wrote music for 48 Hour Film Project, wrote music for the schools TV and broadcasting station)

This class offers students individualized instruction on guitar, bass guitar, upright/double bass, ukulele, banjo, or mandolin in a supportive, structured learning environment. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level, interests, and goals—whether they are just beginning their musical journey or preparing for advanced ensembles and auditions.

Students will develop strong fundamental skills, including tone production, technique, articulation, and sight-reading. Repertoire is selected to build both confidence and musical expression, with opportunities to explore a wide range of styles. Regular goal-setting and progress checkpoints help students stay motivated and experience steady growth.

These lessons aim to build not only musical ability, but also discipline, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music. All levels are welcome, and no prior experience is required.
