I like to work hard at what I do and be intentional with the ways I approach problems. I love to collaborate with others in whatever setting I find myself in; be it writing an academic thesis or playing for a soccer team, I thrive in settings where I can interact freely with others and build off our shared ideas.

In my free time, I like to read, watch Spanish television, and spend time outside with friends. I love to rock climb, ice climb, ski, and run, and I have completed multiple ultra-marathons in Patagonia and the United States. I hope to do all of these things while I am in Spain!

I have taught both English and Spanish to college students, high schoolers, and children alike for the past four years, and I am excited to share those skills with you. Learning a language is a lifelong endeavor, and I firmly believe that conversing with others in their native tongue is one of the most surefire ways to establish connections across cultures. I love to tailor my classes based on my student's personality. I am good at reading people and understanding their capacity to digest what is being presented to them. Based on that my method changes and adapts to their abilities but mainly I love to keep it relevant, timely and trends related. It is good to use the surroundings to teach, it also helps the student engage and see how this language can be used. Fun and important fact, I was not born a native English speaker, I actually acquired the language and I do have a native level (American) English. I believe this enables me to be a good teacher to those who do not speak the language, or don't speeak it as well as a mother tongue, because unlike someone who was born speaking it, I know the keys to learning a language and sounding exactly like those who are native. This is mainly because when I learnt English I did not learn it as sounds, grammar and sayings. I learnt it as a culture. That is why I am often confused for a native speaker. This is what I want to give to my English students.

This course emphasizes the fundamental language skills of reading, writing, speaking, listening, thinking, viewing and presenting. An emphasis on vocabulary and composition skills will be an on-going part of the program. The course includes studies of various literary genres: short story, general topics of daily life and activities. The development of critical reading and writing skills is a major emphasis of the course.
