I am a young, motivated, and enthusiastic mathematics, computer science, and study methods teacher.

Students may not always be able to follow along well in certain lessons because sometimes things go fast, and sometimes just need a little more time to understand certain things. Understanding the subject matter is very important. I therefore offer tailor-made extra lessons for every student! Every student is different and learns differently. Because of the teacher training that I have followed and the years of experience in giving tutoring, I know a lot of (online) tools with which students can store things efficiently and better in memory. The student will realize that learning in this way is also much more fun!

I teach mathematics and physics at different levels.
I always start with an introduction that is mainly focused on very simple concepts that are then followed by entry-level exercises.
After this I expand the subject matter, which also includes advanced exercises.

I am studying Mathematics at the University of Cambridge (graduated my bachelor's degree with highest distinction in June 2023, I will start my master's in October 2023) and systematically obtained >90% in mathematics and physics.

My math teacher wrote about me in her recommendation letter for the University of Cambridge: “And very important as well, he is a good communicator and apt to share his knowledge. Whenever we do teamwork, a quiz or a game in the classroom, everyone wants to be in the same group as Zephyr. ”

I have 4 younger brothers who regularly ask me for help when they are stuck with their school work. By helping them with this I learned how to explain subject matter. In 2019 I started paying tutoring. In the meantime I have already tutored dozens of students, for secondary school material, and preparation for entrance exams for universities.

It is important for me to discuss with you, parents and student at the end of the first lesson whether what you expect will be feasible. This way I can be sure that you will be satisfied with the lessons.

My goal is to update the student as quickly as possible in any area where there is a backlog, so that the student is not even more behind.

As a young graduate from Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology I am affiliate with all engineering sciences and mathematics. At this university, I have been a mentor and tutor for all freshmen in their first year, assisting with all the necessary basics for a promising academic career. Need help with math or science? As a 33-year-old civil engineer, I'm happy to help! I'll learn at your own pace, using plenty of examples to illustrate the material. I have years of experience teaching both simple and complex subjects.

The lessons run as follows. First of all, together we look for the student's biggest stumbling blocks. These can be related to the subject matter as well as to the study method. From there, I continue to work at the pace of the student and encourage them to ask as many questions as possible. I also give them tips and tricks, and improve their working methods where necessary. During the lesson I give many examples to make the subject matter more interesting and we solve exercises together. Once the student has mastered the exercises from the lesson, I give some more challenging exercises to also test on the deeper understanding of the subject matter. In this way I try to optimally prepare the student for his / her test or exam.

However, learning should also be enjoyable. That is why I always strive for a good relationship with the student through a spontaneous and positive approach. I am also very patient. All this lowers the barrier to ask questions and improves the student's learning process.

As a graduated engineer I would like to help other students familiarize themselves with the sometimes complex world of mathematics and physics. During my studies I gave tutoring for 3 years in secondary schools, Antwerp region, as part of the Tutoraat project of the University of Antwerp. I try to go through the subject matter interactively with the student and to link theoretical concepts as much as possible to examples from our daily life. Learning by means of tangible examples is the easiest way, I have noticed myself.

Are you looking for math tutoring for yourself or for your child/student, from primary school to all levels of secondary education? Then I can help you. I am patient and do more than just help with homework. First we examine together whether the problem is general or there are just a few specific questions.

For some specific questions, we can probably solve the problems with some extra lessons, for example in the run-up to exams or a big test to cross the i's and cross the t's.

For larger problems such as study method problems, we will have to opt for more structural tutoring in consultation with the parents/student (can be once a week/2 weeks/month, for example). I don't have a magic wand, but if the child is motivated, we can really achieve a lot.

Online tutoring is possible, but I prefer more traditional methods: I sit next to the student and we work with pen and paper, with or without the parent nearby (some young people feel calmer if the parent stays nearby, others find it which is embarrassing; I'm also a stranger to the parent, so I understand if you want to stay close). I prefer as little screen time as possible, I can show examples on the computer, for example we can make graphs and calculations in wolfram alpha or I can provide geometric animations in geogebra.

I have hundreds of hours of experience in tutoring.
I participated in the summer course for incoming secondary education students who want to test whether their mathematics level is up to standard to start a mathematics or engineering course at university.
