If you’d like study music theory to learn a new powerful language, or if you’d like create your own music; a good music theory knowledge could help you to learn more about “how music work” and “how manage your ideas”.
It could be really helpful if you are considering to get admission at Conservatoire because Music Theory/ Ear Training/Solfege/Harmony/Analysis Test can required a really good training.
I like customise didactic method on every student, my background is academic but I try to take in account needs of every young musician.
I got my BA Degree - Music Composition in Italy at Conservatorio Alessandro Scarlatti.

Music paper(except for History), notebook, chancery, sometimes a piano keyboard/guitar can be really helpful (expecially for harmony and composition).
