I am quite passionate about sharing my knowledge, and not just teaching kids, but mentoring them during their course of study. The first lesson would include understanding the needs of a student, his/her interests, core understanding of the topic, points of weakness, and method of studying. A study plan is drawn, and an end goal is decided. The course of the next lessons is to ensure that the study plan is stuck to and that it helps the student reach the final aim. A regular lesson post that would begin with a quick revision of what was learned in the previous lesson, covering topics from the study plan, ensuring that the weak points are faced without fear. The end of the lesson is to reflect on what is studied for the day and how as a team the tutor and student can make it more productive. I prioritize tutor-student communication as it's the first step towards understanding the wants of the student. I find it important that the student questions me during a lesson/asks doubts as the final goal is to improve the student's core understanding and not just teach him/her a topic.
