Hello! My name is Olivia, and I am an American opera singer now based in Paris! I give 45 minute and hour voice lessons at a studio in Paris teaching all different styles of music to students of all ages and levels in both English and French. While I have extensively studied classical technique, I also have a performance certificate in musical theater and have recorded pop and country songs. I teach a classically based, healthy technique that can be applied to sing any style of music. I also teach the basic ear training, music history, and music theory to give students a greater appreciation for music! I specialize in beginners.

I strive to provide a professional yet friendly environment where students feel free to express themselves and find their true voice. My classical background has given me a very technical and detailed education, and consequently I am able to find healthy ways of singing virtually any style of music. Each student learns differently, and I continually search for new ways of explaining the technical aspects of singing while making the lessons fun. I work on goals with each student so we can track their progress together, and tailor each lesson to each student's wishes - be it general music appreciation, a desire to be able to sing for fun comfortably, or perform for their upcoming show. I generally devote a portion of each lesson to more general music education including basic music theory, music history, and ear training...all skills which both make the student a better musician and enrich their musical experience. I teach in French, German or English.

During my years of experience as a teacher, I developed different methods and exercises to teach drumming and music from beginners to advanced students. more important in my function is to have the ability to adapt since each student needs an individual and specific approach. Thus, although my teaching method is based on standardized concepts and exercises, the most important thing is to adapt to each student. I think the main interest is that the students can find the motivation to practice the instrument since the true learning is built by oneself. In this end, the most common is to use the songs chosen by the student and from this point of departure, to highlight the concepts that must be acquired.When it involves students of more advanced levels, I try to focus the teaching on a goal given together.

Student musician in jazz, dynamic and graduated from the Conservatory of Geneva, I teach a repertoire ranging from classical jazz, through also popular songs and improvisation.

I studied piano for more than 15 years (in Switzerland and in the United States) before obtaining my certificate in Geneva, and I teach some ten students for more than 3 years. I am also a singer (lyric, jazz and pop).

My goal in teaching is to strengthen the links between the student and the music (through listening, technique, composition, solfeggio or improvisation). It is important to see my students blossom as classes, including children and adults.

I teach amateur violin lessons for children who want to start the instrument. Violin lessons are accompanied by theory theory lessons as well as deciphering and singing lessons. Clarinet classes are made of two main parts :
- one part to warm up (scales, games, breathing...)
- another part about instrumental technicality (mouthpiece position, fingering, rightness...)

The first part is dedicated to one particular technique at a time (legato, pizzicato, rhythm...). The second one consists of studying one piece from classical, jazz or klezmer repertory. Student and teacher will be able to play duets together.

You are free to submit any piece/score you would like to play.

I have been teaching music for 15 years. I teach all styles. I work a lot with body awareness, improvisation and what each student needs and for their personal growth.
The vocal technique that I use seeks the naturalness of the voice and body relaxation. I combine it with Yoga exercises to make it a complete job.

For students preparing for entrance exams to the higher conservatory or a diploma in auditory education/musical training or even for students wishing to refine their auditory skills.
