I am an experienced English teacher and tutor, and have worked with students from many nationalities in the Middle East, France and Switzerland. I have prepared students for Cambridge English exams both general and business English: PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, BULATS, BEC. I also specialize in tutoring school students for English language and literature. I focus on creating fun, stimulating and practical lessons which really address the student's needs and build the student's confidence.

I am an experienced teacher who enjoys interacting and getting the best out of my students. My previous and current students say the best thing about our lessons is that I am calm and very patient! If you don't understand something, I will think of different ways to explain or illustrate the point so that you can understand it and retain it.
For me, the most important thing in learning English is to enjoy it, so my lessons involve lots of speaking and practising for real life situations; using real life materials; using games and interactive methods; listening to English radio or extracts from English television or film. At my home my lessons can also include practical activities, be it making cupcakes, using English recipes and following English instructions, or involving outdoor activities. When tutoring for school work, I look for interesting ways to bring the work to life, so that the student is fully engaged and doesn't feel it is 'just more schoolwork'. Learning is fun!

I have over 10 years of teaching experience, since obtaining my CELTA qualification in 2005. I worked as an English teacher for the British Council in Abu Dhabi for 3 years, and also worked as a private tutor for a Sheikha within the Abu Dhabi Royal Family. In Geneva, I worked for 2 years for Academia, teaching students within UBS and Credit Suisse as well as currently working as an English tutor for Tutorsplus, Geneva where I give 'soutien scolaire' to children from Years 8 to 12 within International schools in Geneva. I also work with the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Haute Savoie, teaching individuals both general English and Business English. I currently work as an auto-entrepreneur teaching classes of children ranging from 5-18 years old. I also host French children for English immersion weeks during the school holidays - I am one of the host families for the company Daily English.

I'm heading home. The purpose of this course is to be able to help people who have gaps in German and / or English.
Help with homework to help with what is difficult and difficult in German, English and French eventually.

My method is work, because work is the key to success. I work with the student on the vocabulary, the grammar etc. At the end of the course I give small exercises to make sure that the student understands !!

I arrange for a short summary of the course to the student & I give him homework at the end for the next class (if needed)

From beginners to advanced I provide a guiding hand through worlds' third most spoken language: English.
Depending on your needs we will focus on grammar, pronunciation, writing or speaking. As living in a foreign country myself I have come to realize in learning a new language, the best way to proceed is through dialoge. I am a Belgian (Flemish) and French student with a Masters in International Public Law (Amsterdam) and a Masters in Global development (University of Copenhagen). World traveler, I have lived in Thailand, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, US, Switzerland and many more countries, where I both dtudies and worked as a legal advisor.

I have been tutoring since 2017, both in person, in schools and online, since 2017, I have been working with around 250 students, located everywhere in the world! Here is an overview of my previous tutoring experience:

2022-Now:

2023:
Tutor of Dutch at Varady Language school in Geneva

2021-2022:
I worked at "bijlesthuis," a Dutch tutoring institution, where I primarily taught French, Dutch, and English to adult learners seeking to improve their language skills. During the same period, I also provided classes to other students through Apprentus.

2021:
Through Apprentus and other websites, I assisted several younger students (ages 5-15) in Bern and Geneva, helping them improve their skills in subjects such as Maths and French.

2017-2020:
I worked for three years at a tutoring institution in Geneva called ARA, where I primarily taught French, Mathematics, and English.

During this time, I also spent two years working at a private school called Florimont, where I supported students aged 11-16 across various subjects by assisting them with their homework.

I can teach French, Dutch, and English, Spanish and in German, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching and assisting students in their progress and acquisition of new skills.

Hi! Since obtaining my CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) diploma in summer 2020, I have been teaching English to learners of all ages, from beginner to advanced level (A1-C1). Lessons are tailored to the student's needs, whether it's improving conversational English, preparing for an exam, working on Business English and more.

In addition to my work as a teacher, I am a student of English language and literature at the University of Geneva. English is truly my passion, which is why I strive to transmit the love of this language to all my students.

A lesson typically lasts 60 minutes and can take place at the student's home, my home, or another convenient location (a cafe or at university, for example).

This course really adapts to your current English skills and personal learning goals. It contains on a general review of grammar but with emphasis upon speaking and getting comfortable with the English language. Strong attention will be given to the development of composition and critical reading skills. Vocabulary development and outside reading will complement this course of study.
