This class deals with the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire from 753BC until 476AD.

it is divided into two main into two main blocks these being: -
1. The pre-imperial era from the Early Monarchy until the collapse of The Roman Republic (753BC-31BC)
2. The imperial era from the Augustan settlement until the end of the Western Empire (30BC until 476AD)

Each block will attempt to relate the past to the prsent by showing how many of the challenges facing The Ancient Romans are still being faced today. Attendees will also be taught practical skills such us how to critically evaluate Ancient sources. There will be a mixture of formal teaching , interactive discussion and role play.

This class is a 'must' for those wishing to better understand Ancient History. They can expect to meet some larger than life characters.

Hello, my name is Adil, a teacher passionate about languages and specializing in practical and effective French teaching.
With me, there are no boring classes: we learn with a method, with measurable progress.

I have concrete and varied experience in teaching French internationally:

1) As a private French and English teacher in Brazil, I have worked with students of very different profiles (students, professionals, complete beginners as well as advanced levels).

2) Assistant professor in a Brazilian University (UFES), an experience which allowed me to work in an academic setting, to prepare structured educational activities and to support groups of students.

3) As a volunteer teacher with the French Red Cross, I taught French to refugees and people in integration programs. This experience gave me a human, patient, and truly personalized approach to teaching.

Being trilingual allows me to understand the difficulties encountered by a learner and to adapt my courses accordingly.

Regarding my method:

I propose a structured yet accessible approach, based on:

1) Clear objectives from the very first lesson,

2) a personalized progression according to the student's level and pace,

3) a balance between grammar, conversation, vocabulary and comprehension,

4) varied activities: role-playing, dialogues, exercises, guided correction,

5) Follow-up after each session to measure progress.
