Hello everyone!

I am Emanuel, a professional bassplayer based in Brussels. I Graduated with a Master diploma in Jazz Double bass in 2020 & I am currently finishing a Master diploma in teaching music. I have 8 years of experience teaching both privately and in schools.

I teach both electric and acoustic bass and I am open and interested in all genres of music.

My lessons are open to students of all ages and all levels. I am open to teach anyone who wants to explore the bass and share the beauty of music.

In the lessons we can explore all kinds of music and all kinds of areas of playing. How to play basslines, improve your technique, how to improvise solo's, improve time-feel, eartraining,... All these elements can be combined to make you a better musician.

My method of teaching is different for every student. It's very important for me to know a student and to know what he/she wants to achieve in order to create a specific program for them.

Last but not least, my idea as a teacher is to create a friendly environment. Having fun is the most important thing in order to learn in a natural and effective way!

A seasoned and passionate musician since the age of 15, I gave my first lessons more than 10 years ago. I am an excellent pedagogue, and I adapt to the level of the student, whether in terms of technical mastery of the instrument, ability to read notes (or tablature), as well as understanding music theory and of the theory. I put myself at the service of the student, his level and his tastes and musical projects. I have a thorough knowledge of music theory, particularly in jazz, and a long experience of playing together (jazz, rock and progressive metal). I can thus provide the theoretical elements necessary for the student to fully appropriate his instrument, at his own pace, and be able to play in a group, invent bass lines, improvise and compose pieces.

The bass is the most important instrument in a musical ensemble, whether in jazz, rock, blues, funk, metal or pop. She is the benchmark for all other musicians, she defines both rhythm and harmony, and she literally makes the bodies of the listeners vibrate.

Are you a beginner who has started to learn guitar on his own, and can't see the trees for the wood anymore? Or do you already have some experience and want to learn something new? Then you've come to the right place!

About myself:
I have been playing both guitar and bass guitar for 8 years. I also have a solid foundation in music theory. I took lessons with Kristof Neyens (rock school leuven) for several years, and now I would like to share my experience.

Classes:
Depending on your preference, we can draw up a lesson plan together with individual assignments. I also try to work as much as possible with the genres that you like to listen to yourself, this is of course more motivating (after all, you don't want to try to teach Mozart to a Metal fan ;))

My approach is certainly not like that of the 'music theory' at the academy. From your first lesson you will immediately start playing songs. I only use music theory if it is really necessary or if you would like to delve into it.

Practical:
I follow distance education so I can actually go at any time of the week, online lessons are also a possibility.

Hi there,
My name is Rodrigo Fuentealba, I’m a professional guitarist - Fuzztones, Arsenal, Novastar, Gabriel Ríos, Fifty Foot Combo, Manngold - I play in little dark venues as well as Werchter and Forest National in bands whose genre ranges from Rock'n Roll, blues, surf, punkrock, postpunk, jazz, latin, garage, pop, soul, folk, country, psychedelica, impro, solos and anything in between and beyond, anything as long as it’s good and fun ! And ... I can’t read music (I can pretend very well) and I’ve only been taking an interest in music theory in the last ten years.

I have a solid experience as a guitar teacher as i’ve worked for 10 years at the PXL Music Conservatory, which produces most of the professional bands coming out of Belgium, as well as at the Merelbeke Music Academy. I also produce music, write music scores for theater, movies, adverts and contemporary dance.

I got into music because it is fun to play an instrument, it makes you feel good, it’s creative, inspiring, and it connects you to other people. And that is my main goal in teaching you how to play the guitar. At your own pace, learning the stuff that you like and want to learn. The basic basics, songs, styles, soloing, impro, and the more advanced things, whatever it is that you fancy and would like to learn. In a beautiful environment. And with a nice cup of tea.
