I achieved my diploma for B2 and B1 french level while being in the French school system most of my life. However, right now I am in my before last-year of school at the International School of the Hague.

Classes are flexible depending on the needs and availability of the students. I am Laura , a Spanish woman living in The Hague. I have been teaching and helping high school students with their homework and study methods since 2014 as a private tutor. I have experience as a language teacher in different schools in Madrid (extracurricular activities) for children between 3 and 10 years old. I work as a Spanish teacher since 2019 in various countries, helping numerous students to improve their speaking, listening and writing skills.

I studied Nutrition and Dietetics (4 years bachelor) at Complutense University of Madrid. Later and determined by my love for languages, I completed the BA in Linguistics in Leiden University, following the Brain and Cognition specialization, which focuses in how language and second languages learning works in a neural level.

Depending on the goal, the learning or lesson method is different. Normally, the first day I meet the student and we talk about what he or she expects and the topics we need to pay more attention. From that, I organise and structure a learning plan for reaching the desired goals (listening, speaking, writing, etc) or level (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).

I have experience in teaching all age groups and I a motivated to keep the students engaged and enthusiastic. Next to Dutch, I speak English, French, German and some Spanish. - I do not believe that there is a single method or textbook suitable for everyone. Hence the importance for me of always getting to know my students in order to build an effective progression.
- I systematically tailor my lessons to the particular needs of each student, depending of course on his or her abilities but also on his or her favorite subjects.
- I ask the students to do exercises (lexical or grammatical) at home after each lesson, in electronic (pdf) or paper format. We systematically correct them at the beginning of each class.
- The dialogue between the students and the teacher is very important. Not a lesson goes by without them talking about life and the events in the news...
- I prepare for examinations (DL, DELF/DALF, TEF, TCF, CCIP, TELC, CIEP, LPE...)
