The course discusses the basic statistical theory that is frequently used for prediction and data analysis. It covers Classical probability theory; discrete and continuous random variables; distribution functions; expectation; law of large numbers; central limit theorem; other applications; random sampling; estimation of parameters; hypothesis testing; linear regression model; and other topics as time allows.
