I am a native English speaker living in Cannes.
In 2010 I obtained my TESOL qualification and since then have enjoyed teaching English as a second language. While in London I taught K-Pop stars; here in Cannes I teach children from as young as 5.

With the beginners - irrespective of age - I tend to start with phonics. A good grasp of phonics enables students to read and spell easier. It is proven that students that have started their English language learning journey with phonics tend to have a better understanding and command of grammar, syntax and language overall than those who did not complete this vital element of the English language. Once completed, I follow the Cambridge English syllabus. IThe Cambridge curriculum and material are interesting, relevant and cater to a variety of ages and levels. In addition, the Cambridge exams and certificates are accepted by many international bodies.

All lessons are customised and adapted in order to correspond to the student's level.

About Me

I have had a varied and rich career for which I am incredibly grateful: entrepreneur, tour guide, lecturer, teacher, archivist. All have enabled me to carry on learning and to share my knowledge. Throughout my classes I incorporate contemporary subjects in order to keep my students engaged. I love to include art as a discussion point- I have found this particularly useful for my younger students.

I am from Sweden and lived my first 19 years there before I moved to Florida, united states for college. I spoke pretty good english before I moved but going from speaking english when traveling to speaking full time everyday with everyone was a big change and I believe that my experience as an international student in the US has taught me a great amount about the language and I can relate to the misunderstandings or confusion with learning English.

Hello, my name is Merlin, I am a law and political science student at the University of Nice.
I hold an international baccalaureate in English attesting to a perfectly bilingual level of English (C1) obtained following 7 years (middle school + high school) of English lessons at a rate of 8 hours / week.

I therefore give English lessons for primary, middle or high school.
I can also help with homework or do revision lessons by video, at my home (Cannes) or directly at your home (I can travel without any problem).

Given my student status, I am available all weekends and evenings, but my hours are quite flexible, so I can adapt perfectly to yours!

As a teacher of French as a foreign language and a holistic coach at the same time, I understood that learning languages is an art.
Do you believe me if I tell you that learning languages is not just about memorizing vocabulary or understanding its grammar?
