Ik ben een geduldige jonge kerel (23) uit Limburg. Ik kende zelf toen ik nog jong was veel problemen met bepaalde vakken op school. Ik had vaak nood aan bijles en aan iemand die geduldig was om me bij te brengen wat ik nodig had.

Education

Ik behaalde zopas mijn Bachelor in de Journalistiek aan de hogeschool PXL in Hasselt. Ik heb ook mijn diploma aan het secundair onderwijs behaald. Ik studeerde af in Economie moderne talen.

Ik deed voor mijn bachelor in de journalistiek stage bij Het Laatste Nieuws op de sportredactie. Ik deed ook nog korte stages bij Het Belang van Limburg en TV Limburg.

Dutch is my mother tongue, I am Dutch and I suggest you improve your level of Dutch by focusing on conversation - pronunciation - learning to express yourself well - convincing shyness to speak. Of course also academic support - explanation of grammar - reading and understanding texts - writing and editing. Preparing for job interviews, raising the level of Dutch for professional use to a higher level, working with university students to prepare for their Dutch exams etc etc. I adapt my lessons to the needs of each student. With advanced students we discuss the news based on newspaper articles.
I speak fluent French, English, and Italian. I am a lawyer by training with 30 years of experience in international business. The ultimate goal of my lessons: to love Dutch and prepare for your future!

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

I am a Belgian (Flemish) and French student with a Masters in International Public Law (Amsterdam) and a Masters in Global development (University of Copenhagen). World traveler, I have lived in Thailand, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, US, Switzerland and many more countries, where I both dtudies and worked as a legal advisor.

I have been tutoring since 2017, both in person, in schools and online, since 2017, I have been working with around 250 students, located everywhere in the world! Here is an overview of my previous tutoring experience:

2022-Now:
Online tutoring on Apprentus, (approx 12h/week).

2023:
Tutor of Dutch at Varady Language school in Geneva

2021-2022:
I worked at "bijlesthuis," a Dutch tutoring institution, where I primarily taught French, Dutch, and English to adult learners seeking to improve their language skills. During the same period, I also provided classes to other students through Apprentus.

2021:
Through Apprentus and other websites, I assisted several younger students (ages 5-15) in Bern and Geneva, helping them improve their skills in subjects such as Maths and French.

2017-2020:
I worked for three years at a tutoring institution in Geneva called ARA, where I primarily taught French, Mathematics, and English.

During this time, I also spent two years working at a private school called Florimont, where I supported students aged 11-16 across various subjects by assisting them with their homework.

I can teach French, Dutch, and English, Spanish and in German, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching and assisting students in their progress and acquisition of new skills.

As a person, I am flexible, calm, and positive.
