I am the owner of Haru Japanese Language School and also provide private Japanese lessons at your home or online while living in Switzerland or online when at home.
Many students have been helped to master Hiragana, Katakana, Romanji and Kanji.
I can also help you with conversational Japanese, listening, reading, translation or preparation for JLPT exams.

About Me

I lived and worked in Japan for 4 years and then set up and have been running the Haru Japanese Language School for the last 5 years. My passion is helping others to communicate and expand their horizons.

I have taught both students (14 - 18) and adults conversational Japanese, with specific focus on conversation and grammar. I will also provide basic understanding of Japanese culture and make this a fun, interactive and exciting learning experience.

I studied Japanese, oral and written, for 10 years, including 2 years in Japan. I have a JLPTn2 as well as a bachelor's and a master's degree in Asian studies. In addition, I have experience as a teacher.
My way of teaching Japanese is primarily aligned with the learner's objectives and the time he will have to devote to them. Whether it is grammar at all levels, discussion, reading, preparation for a trip to Japan, I will be happy to help.

Our Mandarin Chinese and Japanese courses are designed for beginners who want to discover the language and culture, as well as intermediate students who want to improve their communication skills. At the beginner level, participants learn the essential basics: pronunciation, tones, and pinyin for Chinese; hiragana and katakana for Japanese; and simple vocabulary and grammar for introducing themselves, asking questions, and discussing everyday life. At the intermediate level, the program delves deeper into grammar, vocabulary, and oral expression to enable more natural conversations, reading dialogues or short texts, and writing more complex sentences, while discovering cultural aspects of both countries. Course content remains highly flexible and adapts to the needs, interests, and pace of each student, offering a personalized and motivating learning experience. Courses can be taken in English, allowing for better comprehension for native English learners or those who prefer to progress in a bilingual setting.

I offer practical Korean and Japanese lessons focused on real-life communication rather than textbook-style learning.

My classes are relaxed and flexible, suitable for beginners or learners who want to improve everyday conversation and understand natural expressions used by native speakers.
