I specialise in teaching music theory, piano and voice online. I can provide customised courses to prepare pupils for the ABRSM Grade 5 theory exam as well as teaching theory from beginners upwards.
I have many years experience of teaching singing at all levels and across a range of genres (eg, musical theatre, pop, classical) and also of directing choirs. I have taught the piano throughout the grades and can also offer my services as an accompanist for pupils taking music exams.
I use a range of resources to make lessons enjoyable and productive and have high expectations of my pupils, regardless of ability. Teaching music in schools and the community has been, and still is, a real privilege for me and I have enjoyed further developing my music technology skills in creating engaging lessons online!

In Oud, we will focus on:

Musical Maqams: Deepen your understanding of Arabic Maqams and how to apply them to playing. Musical Notes: Learn to read and perform notes on the oud with skill. Pick Exercises: Improve playing techniques using a pick to develop movement between the strings. Technique Exercises: Build playing skills through various exercises to improve speed and accuracy. Oriental Songs: Learn to play the most famous oriental tunes and songs to be able to give a distinctive performance. Musical Pieces: Study traditional and contemporary oriental pieces while developing individual performance skills.

As for the piano, we will focus on:

Musical Notes: Learn to read and write notes easily while improving your musical skills. Musical Scales: Study major and minor scales and their effect on playing pieces. Chords: Learn to build different chords and how to use them in playing. Western and Eastern Pieces: Present a mix of Western and Eastern pieces that enhance your skills and develop your artistic taste. Technique Exercises: Advanced exercises to improve hand coordination and improve performance on the piano.

In guitar, we will learn:

Musical Notes: Read and write notes easily and effectively on the guitar. Chords: Study chords and how to use them in songs and pieces. Musical Pieces: Learn to play different pieces from a variety of styles including Eastern and Western songs.

In oriental singing, we will learn:

Oriental Performance: Learn how to perform famous oriental songs, paying attention to the tones and subtleties that characterize Arabic singing. Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years.

My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. With determination and hard work, significant progress can be made in a year, allowing one to play simple melodies.
