I have been teaching English for many years and have watched my students progress, pass exams and improve both spoken and written English, and watched them go from one level to the next. My classes are both fun and informative and no two classes are ever the same! I do focus on the individual student and what they want to achieve, whether it be conversational classes or striving to pass an exam, aided with writing and listening. I have prepared students for Trinity and Cambridge exams, as well as Escuela Idiomas. All of my students passed their exams, some with distinctions. I also offer homework support to students. I do put emphasis on pronunciation. I sometimes assign homework, but I find that often the case may be that if the student concentrates on what we achieved in the lesson on that day, and studies that content. I do, however, encourage a little study in order to progress and achieve your personal goal.

I am CELTA certified and I also hold business English cerification. I have taught in Spain and also in Geneva. I tailor make your class for your own specific needs. Hi, I am an Irish national. I live in Nyon. I love meeting new people and finding out other peoples stories! I have lived in Spain for many years and moved here to Nyon four years ago. I love long walks with my family and our dog. I also thoroughly enjoy cooking and entertaining! I try to travel as often as I can. I love fresh air and being out in the open, especially by the lake. I am a Belgian (Flemish) and French student with a Masters in International Public Law (Amsterdam) and a Masters in Global development (University of Copenhagen). World traveler, I have lived in Thailand, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, US, Switzerland and many more countries, where I both dtudies and worked as a legal advisor.

I have been tutoring since 2017, both in person, in schools and online, since 2017, I have been working with around 250 students, located everywhere in the world! Here is an overview of my previous tutoring experience:

2022-Now:

2023:
Tutor of Dutch at Varady Language school in Geneva

2021-2022:
I worked at "bijlesthuis," a Dutch tutoring institution, where I primarily taught French, Dutch, and English to adult learners seeking to improve their language skills. During the same period, I also provided classes to other students through Apprentus.

2021:
Through Apprentus and other websites, I assisted several younger students (ages 5-15) in Bern and Geneva, helping them improve their skills in subjects such as Maths and French.

2017-2020:
I worked for three years at a tutoring institution in Geneva called ARA, where I primarily taught French, Mathematics, and English.

During this time, I also spent two years working at a private school called Florimont, where I supported students aged 11-16 across various subjects by assisting them with their homework.

I can teach French, Dutch, and English, Spanish and in German, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching and assisting students in their progress and acquisition of new skills.

Hi! Since obtaining my CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) diploma in summer 2020, I have been teaching English to learners of all ages, from beginner to advanced level (A1-C1). Lessons are tailored to the student's needs, whether it's improving conversational English, preparing for an exam, working on Business English and more.

In addition to my work as a teacher, I am a student of English language and literature at the University of Geneva. English is truly my passion, which is why I strive to transmit the love of this language to all my students.

A lesson typically lasts 60 minutes and can take place at the student's home, my home, or another convenient location (a cafe or at university, for example).

This course really adapts to your current English skills and personal learning goals. It contains on a general review of grammar but with emphasis upon speaking and getting comfortable with the English language. Strong attention will be given to the development of composition and critical reading skills. Vocabulary development and outside reading will complement this course of study.
