In my teaching approach, beginners will receive comprehensive instruction in music fundamentals, including music theory, reading notation, rhythm, key signatures, chord progressions, proper instrument posture, and playing simple melodies. As their skills progress, they will have the opportunity to explore more advanced concepts, such as modes, intricate timing and rhythm patterns, advanced chord structures, harmonization techniques, improvisation, and a diverse repertoire within their chosen genre and style. For instance, classical musicians will delve into the works of composers spanning the Renaissance to the Romantic era, while folk musicians will explore various European dance music styles and American genres like bluegrass, country, western swing, jazz, and blues, among others. The curriculum is tailored to meet the specific needs and aspirations of each student, allowing for continuous growth and musical development.

Présentation
My music education journey began with Suzuki Violin training in a pilot program through the New England Conservatory of Music, which I pursued from 1966 to 1975. Building upon that foundation, I continued my studies at the Conservatory at Rivers, where I obtained a certificate in Violin Performance and Conducting in 1980. In addition to my violin training, I pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Expressive Arts and Musicology from Hampshire College, specializing in musicology and exploring the intersection of music with other art forms. During my time at Hampshire, I also pursued my passion for photography through a minor in experimental photography. This unique blend of academic studies has enriched my understanding of music, its historical context, and its connection to other artistic disciplines. Over the years, I have further honed my musical expertise through certificates in violin, chamber music coaching, and performance from prestigious institutions such as the Conservatory at Rivers, the Center for Chamber Music at Apple Hill, Hampshire College, and additional studies in jazz, music theory, and ethnomusicology at various institutions.
