Ich heiße Sofía und bin Geigerin. Zurzeit mache ich meinen Master in Musikpädagogik an der Musik Akademie Basel.

Neben dem Studium spiele ich in zwei Kammermusikgruppen und gebe Konzerte in Spanien, der Schweiz und Österreich. Außerdem bin ich Mitglied in verschiedenen europäischen Kammerorchestern.

Ich habe Unterrichtserfahrung an Musikschulen in Spanien und Österreich und gebe auch privaten Unterricht.

Im Unterricht ist mir wichtig, mich an jede Schülerin und jeden Schüler individuell anzupassen. Ich gehe auf ihre Ziele und Bedürfnisse ein – egal ob sie aus Freude spielen möchten, sich auf Prüfungen vorbereiten oder ganz neu mit der Violine anfangen.

I’m Sofía, a violinist currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy at the Musik Akademie Basel.

Alongside my studies, I perform regularly with two chamber music groups, with concerts in Spain, Switzerland, and Austria. I am also a member of various European chamber orchestras.

I have teaching experience in music schools in both Spain and Austria, as well as giving private lessons.

In my teaching, I focus on adapting to each student individually. I find it important to understand their goals and needs—whether they want to play for enjoyment, prepare for exams, or start learning the violin from scratch.

I finished my Bachelor in the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels and I am doing a Master Performance in Basel. I give violin lessons to people or children who want to start and to improve their level, always enjoying the process! I can also give music theory lessons: learn how to read scores, solfegio or basic harmony, and the lessons should be in English, Spanish or French.
I really enjoy giving lessons, and I know how to keep the children focus on what they are doing. The large experience in masterclasses I have taken along different countries around Europe makes me able to understand the problems of the children with the instrument and how to solve them in a logical and pleasant way.

I'm an italian professional violinist graduated in the Hochschule der Kunste in Bern and a member of Argovia philharmonic, Sinfonietta Lausanne and City Light Symphony Orchestra. I teach children and adults from beginner to advanced level. My classes are for everyone!

I like to start from the point of the student, observe his/her abailities and focus a lot on how the body itself can help to develop a good connection with the instrument, in order to create a fluid interraction between the person and the music. For this I try to use my knwoledges of the Alexander Technique. It is important that the position of the instrument is compatible with the body of the student. Furthermore, I like to approach a diverse repertoire from the early baroque period and make the student discover the history of the music in its context. Learning by heart, memorize melodies is also a part of my pedagogy.

After my studies of modern violin in France, I studied in Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and got two Masters in baroque and romantic violin. I have also a degree as Solfège teacher. I am taking Alexander Technique lessons and use it in my own practice and pedagogy.

In my career, my life is frozen, my Lust, my Motivation, and my Ratschläge, my life is erroneous. Even though the settings are individual and personal, the programs are different.

Since I have been teaching violin and music, not a day has gone by without me saying to myself that motivation and pleasure are the greatest drivers of learning. This is why I always favor a relaxed and work-friendly atmosphere during my classes. Technique is of course of great importance to me.
I teach musical initiation, music theory and the viola which I practiced in chamber music and of course the violin, my main instrument with which I perform in several orchestras and ensembles.
