First, I always want to hear from the student what his or her expectations are from me and the classes. Mi experiencia? Uno de mis primeros estudios fue el Fontys Lerarenopleiding (Tilburg) para ser profesora de español. Parte de esto fue dar clases de español a adolescentes en una escuela secundaria, ser tutor holandes para mis compañeros de la universidad y quedarnos en Madrid para estudiar en la Universidad de Nebrija por un mes. Tengo algo como 10 años de experiencia en dar clases: individuales y en grupo, con niños y adultos, online y cara a cara. vivo en España (ahora en la Barceloneta) con mi pareja desde 2019, he estudiado en Chile por 5 meses y 3 meses en Mexico para mi maestria. My name is Irene. I come from Guadalajara, a town close to Madrid, but live in beautiful Barcelona.

I understood very early that I like not only learning but also teaching languages and studied my Masters of Linguistics Applied to Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I have lived in France, India, Germany and Russia teaching Spanish. During these 15 years of teaching, I learnt a lot about different methods, people and logics.
I use a variety of resources (textbooks, articles, small videos, audios...) providing examples, exercises and homework so that what is to be learnt is doable and designed for your learning preferences. I adapt my classes to what students want and need so they make the most of their time and money.

Having attended the Calandreta primary, nursery, and secondary school (an immersive Occitan-language program based on Freinet and Montessori pedagogies), I grew up in a multilingual environment and developed a natural aptitude for learning and sharing the languages I speak (French, English, Spanish, and Occitan). I offer tailored lessons for children, adapted to their level and age. For younger children, I focus primarily on conversation in their target language, as well as games and reading in the language they are learning.
