Portuguese - beginner, intermediate, advanced level

This class is for everyone who wants to learn portuguese.
My goal is to provide the best tutoring experience and to teach you what you want to learn or need to know. In order to do that I will personnaly tailor the class to the needs of the student, be it on a beginner, intermediate or advanced level and we can cover a variety of aspects depending on your goals (from technical vocabulary to portuguese literary analysis).
I assign homework every other week and I will provide periodic progress and evaluation reports.

Extra informatie

Bring material to write (as in a pen and a notebook).
Your own lapto may be needed but I will notify you if you do.

Hey there!

My name is Beatriz but I go by Bea. I am a master's student at the UvA and I am looking to pay my rent doig something I love: teaching.
I am 29 years old but I have extensive experience teaching and in the world of private tutoring. Because of that I am aware that every student is different and the best results are achieved if the class is tailored to the specific needs of that student. Regarding classes, you can expect just that from my part, in a constant dialogue with my student and/or his/her parents.
My classes are usually extremely interactive as I believe this provides a better learning experience.

These classes aim at people who want to develop their Portugueses skills, both from scratch with some previous knowledge. The pedagogical structure is adaptable to the situation; school-aged children with Portuguese parent(s) who don't always have the time and opportunity to teach them, adults who need practical advice and relatively quick skill training because of a Portuguese-speaking partner, friend, traveling, etc...
Students are always encouraged to develop their interest in the Portuguese language.

Are you moving to Portugal and want your kid to learn a bit before moving there?
Are you Portuguese native speakers who are living abroad and want to understand how your child is developing?
Is one of the parents of your child a Portuguese native speaker?
Do you want a babysitter who can teach your child a language in the meantime?
Is your child transitioning from an international school to one with a Portuguese curriculum?

These are only some of the few encounters I’ve had in the past with kids who learned Portuguese language in a fun and engaging way. If your kid talks PT/EN/FR/NL/SP I can speak with them.

My strongest suit as a teacher is patience and I can connect to children quite easily (maybe because my mum is a kindergarten teacher). I know how hard it is to hold a kid’s attention for long stretches of time. Thus I try to turn the classroom into a playground and make it as interactive as possible. The focus will be to learn vocabulary as opposed to writing complex sentences, depending on your child’s proficiency of the language.

My method is super flexible and I adjust it to every student. I usually share my screen and make use of audiovisual material such as books, songs, videos and games. The latter seems to have the most success so far as we cheerfully shout Portuguese vocabulary such as animals, numbers, letters, colors etc.

Both Brazilian and European Portuguese. We will start with the basic grammar of the Portuguese language. Depending on the pace and experience of the student, conversation will gradually take place in Portuguese. You will receive useful and practical tips to make learning the language even more fun.

Portugal is a beautiful country and during your holiday, business appointments or if you want to live there, you want to be able to understand the Portuguese people and speak to them in their own language.
Or you are at school and you have chosen Portuguese as a foreign language because you plan to work there.
