Hello, My name is Joris, I'm a saxophonist and conductor. As a saxophonist I obtained a Master degree with great distinction from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, won the second prize at the national Lion's European Music Competition and already played as a soloist with orchestras like the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides. I'm currently following a Master degree in Music Theory and Conducting at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. I started conducting when I was 18 and highlights of my career thus far include a selection as one of only 24 candidates for the conducting contest at the World Music Contest Kerkrade last summer. Furthermore I have had the opportunity to work with professional orchestra's like MAV Symphony in Budapest, the North Czech Philharmonic, the President's Own United States Marine Band, the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra amongst others. My conducting background also forced me to develop a very concise way of giving feedback and to be very efficient and clear, which is crucial to the quick development of students.
