I like to use different methods to teach French to students. It can be through songs, drama, role play or videos. I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced. At the same time, I teach the grammar rules to the student. I now live in regions where French has been spoken for over 30 years. Because I have learned French myself (and I am still learning other languages), I can easily put myself in a student's shoes. I can teach in French, Dutch, English, German and Russian.

About Me

Hello, my name is Marcel, I am Dutch and I love languages. I really enjoy teaching languages or practicing them either by speaking, reading or writing. I have lived in several different European countries and have met a lot of different people with different accents. I learned French in France, but now I've been living in Brussels for 20 years. Today I speak French fluently, but it didn't happen overnight, so I know the difficulties of learning another language. I am married and a father of two children (14 and 11) whom I educate in Dutch. As they grow up in a predominantly French-speaking environment, I see and work with them the problems they encounter. I also take Russian lessons (so I know what it's like to be a student).
