I live in Madrid and I am a student of a Higher Degree in Singing (Jazz and Modern Music). I dedicate a good part of my time to teaching (musical and linguistic) in the format of private classes online or at home. I started giving private classes at home to children when I lived in Germany. During the 22-23 academic year I gave piano classes to students of all ages at the RedMusik Music School (Igualada, Catalonia). I studied the piano and other instruments for more than 15 years at the UGDA and at the Luxembourg City Conservatory of Music. After many years of music theory and piano I obtained the „Première Mention“ certificate from the Conservatory, with the qualification "Très Bien". A good music lesson should include not only technique and reading sheet music, but also theoretical and harmonic study, improvisation, recreational playing with the instrument, and ear training and rhythm exercises. I am interested in designing the lesson creatively and adapting it to the needs and desires of the student. With a Masters Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language, Yimer is obviously very qualified but he also has a gift of teaching that is very effective in making progress on the learning journey. Part of this has to be in his patience and being a teacher that has a way of explaining things, both in English and Spanish, that make learning easier. I have had quite a few Spanish tutors over the years but Yimer, is clearly the best.

As a student who grew up in the American Education system, having classes with Michael is as if I were back in the U.S. The way he explains and the easiness of understanding the material is one of a kind that I doubt I would get from a Spanish/European professional who would sure make it more complicated. I would reccomend Michael to anyone who wants an American experience of teaching.

My lessons with Laura have been fantastic. She goes into a lot of detail, which really helps me improve, but always keeps the lessons fun and enjoyable. She also speaks perfect English, which makes everything really easy to follow. I feel like I have really learnt a lot and I am continuing to improve after each lesson.
