My goal in becoming an educator is to ultimately be able to engage my students in such a way as to develop the same passion for learning that I have come to embrace throughout my academic career. The core of my desire to teach stemmed from the discovery of individual learning styles. Personally, it took an educator who knew how to identify and isolate my learning style so as to more effectively stimulate my thirst for knowledge. I gained a greater understanding of his approach to how teaching me differed from teaching my classmate/s. In his success, I became acutely aware of how important relational teaching is to the learning process. Not only did it spark my desire to learn, it inspired me to teach. Through such experiences, I became certain that teaching would be a fulfilling and enriching life experience as well as a career. The potential to share the same passion and appreciation of the educational process that was imprinted on me is my drive in pursuing this career track.
