Hi! I am Ronalene - an ESL instructor, ECE practitioner, and a professional licensed teacher from the Philippines. I also hold TESOL certification.

Enough with the formalities, you can also refer to me as Teacher Len. I'm a wife and a furmom to a pomeranian. I love slow-living while doing the things that I'm passionate about. When I am not teaching or working, you can find me doing art, buying stoneware, listening to music, or watching silent vlogs. I offer Japanese lessons that focus on grammar and vocabulary—both common difficulties—as well as spoken language. The goal of the course is to cover the technical aspects of the language without being overly theoretical or academic.

In my lessons, I combine the theoretical aspect of the language, which is essential for speaking correctly, with the practical aspect, which enables one to express oneself clearly and interact effectively with native speakers – while maintaining a certain distance from both sides.

Through my experience in interpreting from Japanese and my stays in Japan, I can convey a natural and spontaneous approach to the language.

The course focuses on grammar, vocabulary, and writing (kanji). From the perspective of an Indo-European language speaker, the course aims to help learners acquire the structure of the Japanese language naturally, freeing themselves from any possible unconscious biases inherent in their own language.

I also place particular emphasis on the connection between written and spoken language—an aspect that often seems surprising in Japanese—so as not to separate the two elements.

I am from Paris, I speak four languages including English and Japanese. I like to share my passion for my mother tongue as I did during 3 years in prestigious universities.

Since I graduated with a master's degree in Japanese language and civilization, I have been teaching Japanese to beginners and intermediates online, as I did as a tutor at the University of Paris 7.

At university Paris 2, I taught french and explained the specific words applied in french law to foreign students. At university Paris 7, I supervised the dissertations redaction of foreign scholarship holders.
