(EN) Thinking of moving to Greece or just fascinated by the Greek language? Then this course is for you! In these classes you will be introduced to the fundamentals of Modern Greek through developing written, oral, reading and listening skills. Learn how to converse in every day situations, write an email, or listen to the news and cultivate your appreciation of Greek culture.

My teaching philosophy centres around the premise that learning should be fun. Through encouraging a creative, interactive and engaging environment, students are motivated to explore their own individual relationships with their target language, allowing them to become confident speakers.

Μέσω της ενθάρρυνσης ενός δημιουργικού, διαδραστικού και ελκυστικού περιβάλλοντος, οι μαθητές παρακινούνται να εξερευνήσουν τις ατομικές τους σχέσεις με τη γλώσσα-στόχο τους, επιτρέποντάς τους να γίνουν ομιλητές με αυτοπεποίθηση.

من أنا؟

-I'm a Canadian-Greek linguist and historical musicologist living in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
-I have been teaching English since 2012 at an academic level and as a foreign language.
-I am a native speaker of English and Greek, but I also speak proficient French, intermediate Dutch and basic Spanish and Italian.
-I love reading classical literature, history books, and my hobbies include singing in choirs and knitting. I am also always sipping on a cup of coffee or tea!

In this class, you will build confidence in understanding, speaking and writing in English. I love incorporating interdisciplinary methods in my classes, through games, music and fun activities, reinforcing the aspect of learned experience. This will be done by:
-Using interactive audiovisual materials
-Reading articles and texts that are relevant to your interests
-Encouraging you to bring your own experience to the lesson

If your needs are specific to a particular field (e.g. Academic English, English for Business), then the lesson materials will be shaped to your learning needs and requirements.

Proofreading is one of the most labour-intensive and tedious stages in the writing process. But this final stage of writing can make the difference between a good and an amazing essay.

This class will help give you a second pair of eyes to correct, refine and polish your essay or thesis at any stage of the writing process. Gain insight into the research procedure, synthesis and citation, as well as use of appropriate language.
