My IB tutoring sessions provide a structured and student-led environment where learners are in charge of their own progress. With seven years of experience teaching the IB DP, I have taught and can help with Geography, ESS, History, and TOK. Additionally, I have been guiding students through the Extended Essay as the EE coordinator for three years, so I know the IB and have the resources to help students develop organization, critical thinking, and research skills that foster confidence and independence in the diploma.

Being new to the Netherlands, I have a flexible work schedule for this year. Having studied in the USA and UK and worked with diverse international learners in Africa and Europe, I bring a global perspective and warm, multilingual approach. Each session is online through Zoom and uses Zoom's interactive whiteboard. Lessons are not didactic, but are tailored to individual learning styles, blending academic rigor with empathy and adaptability. My background as a special needs teacher enables me to differentiate instruction and provide strategies that meet students where they are. I place strong emphasis on essay writing, data analysis, and exam techniques, ensuring that students not only understand the content but also know how to apply it effectively.

Über mich

Professionally, I have taught IB Geography, ESS, and TOK, and I have also served as an Extended Essay coordinator, guiding students through the research and writing process with a focus on organization and critical thinking. Earlier in my career, I worked as a special needs teacher in both primary and secondary schools, an experience that strengthened my ability to adapt lessons and approaches to individual learning needs. I have also contributed to curriculum development for Geography, ensuring that the material is engaging and aligned with IB standards.

My teaching style is student-led: I provide the structure, resources, and support, while students take the wheel in setting the pace and depth of their learning. I focus on building self-awareness, confidence, and exam techniques that suit each student’s strengths. I also emphasize essay writing and research analysis, helping students gain the skills they need not only to succeed in exams but also to approach academic work with independence and clarity.

United States - Bachelors in Sociology, with a focus on Child Psych and the Environment.
UK - Masters in International History and Relations and International Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

Erfahrung / Qualifikationen

IPGCE in Education, Certified IB Teacher with Category 2 Certificates in TOK Geography and ESS, 8 years in school teaching experience up to present.
