For young beginner, the lesson will focus on inducing interest of playing the instrument through games and sounds that they interested in. Apart from instrumental basic techniques, basic musical theory will also be another main focus for the lesson.

For intermediate students, half of the lesson will focus on strengthen the basic technique and enhance the musicianship.

For Advanced students, the lesson will focus on refining the the advance technique and musical ideas.

*Practicing recording will be given for students to have a clear idea for practicing. Students can always send recordings for feed back beside the lesson time.

Frankie started his trombone lesson when he was 12. While studying for his bachelor’s degree at Hong Kong Baptist University, he studied trombone playing with Jarod Vermette, the principal trombonist in Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Ben Pelletier, who is a famous classical and pop trombone player in Asia. After he finished his bachelor’s degree, he continued his study at Codarts University for Art in Rotterdam with Alexander Verbeek, the principal trombonist in Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and Brandt Attama, a well-known bass trombone soloist. After two years of studying in Rotterdam, he chose Royal Conservatoire The Hague to study for his master’s degree with Tim Dowling, the principal trombonist in Residentie Orkest, and Sebastiaan Kemner, a famous Dutch trombone player. During his study, he also took numerous lessons from world-class musicians, like Jorgen van Rijen, Ian Bousfield, Michael Mulcahy, Olaf Ott, Jacques Mauger, Jamie Williams, Gyorgy Gyivicsan, Christian Ganicenco, Joseph Rodriguez, David Ray, Brett Baker, Vincent Lepape, Vincenzo Paratore, Maciek Walicki, Zachary bond, Tomer Maschkowski, Christian Jones, Mark Boonstra, Bart van Lier, Alex Iles, Rex Martin.

Frankie, Cheuk Nam Ko, finished his master diploma in Royal Conservatoire The Hague. As an active trombonist in Hong Kong, Frankie has performed with various orchestra and groups, like Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra brass ensemble, Hong Kong Winds Ensemble, Hk Baptist University Orchestra, Hk Baptist University Wind Symphony, HK Baptist University Brass Ensemble, Hong Kong Civic Youth Orchestra, Ponte Singers and Orchestra, Music Summer Orchestra(organized by Asian Youth Orchestra), etc. In order to promote trombone music in Hong Kong, Frankie has formed a trombone ensemble called Coulissemen with another local trombonist in 2013. Ben je geïnteresseerd in de trompet en op zoek naar lessen? Dan kun je hiervoor bij mij terecht in Den Haag of aan huis. De privélessen duren 45 minuten en worden één keer per week of om de week gegeven.

Als je nog nooit trompet hebt gespeeld neem ik alle tijd voor jou om je op de juiste manier trompet te laten spelen. Ik zal in het begin vooral veel aandacht besteden aan het volgende:

Ademhalingstechniek
Het op de juiste manier vasthouden van een trompet
Het nemen van de juiste houding
Het plaatsen van je lippen op het mondstuk op de juiste wijze
Het spelen van je eerste noot
Het lezen van muzieknoten
Dit alles gaat allemaal stapsgewijs. Ik geef les uit het boek Horen, Lezen, Spelen van de Haske. Dit boek bevat een CD zodat je de oefeningen thuis mee kunt spelen. Als je al trompet speelt ga ik ook letten op ademhalingstechniek, houding en aanzet, maar de oefeningen zullen lastiger worden. Ik zal ook met jou doornemen waar je problemen liggen op het gebied van trompet spelen. Aandachtspunten:

Lessen en lesgeld:

Het is aan te raden om wekelijks les te nemen om voldoende vordering te maken. Minimaal één les in de twee weken is nodig voor een zekere regelmaat. Een les duurt standaard 45 minuten maar alles is aan te passen aan persoonlijke wensen

Voorwaarden algemeen:
Voor lessen bij de leerling thuis worden reiskosten doorberekend.
Een les die niet 24 uur van te voren telefonisch is afgezegd wordt wel in rekening gebracht.
Op lessen voor 5 (of meer) leden van één vereniging, geven wij 10% korting als de betaling via de vereniging loopt.

Hello all!
My name is Yiannis , I'm a third generation trombone player and I've been playing the trombone since 9 years of age.
In 2017 I got my Trombone Diploma in Greece and since 2018 I have been studying Classical trombone at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where I graduated from with a Bachelor's degree.
I've had teaching experience from Greece and here alongside my bachelor's degree i acquired followed the minor in education.
Teaching is really a very beautiful and enjoyable process from which both teacher and student learn a lot!
I'm very passionate about music, and I'm able to teach you both classical trombone or pop if that's your cup of tea!

I'm here to remind everyone that age is just a number and does not mean anything.

Trumpet Lessons The Hague - Delft
Music is an important part of anyone’s life at any stage, which is why I believe teaching an instrument should be made available to all ages. Whether you have a young child who has developed an interest in the trumpet, or you are a working professional who just fancies a new hobby, or anyone in-between, I will develop lesson plans tailor made to you. Learn to improvise, develop your creativity or even play classical concerto’s!

Classical - Jazz - Pop
From the age of 7, I trained as a classical trumpet player, and then developed an interest in jazz at 13. I have a Bachelors in Classical music from London, and a Jazz Bachelors and Masters from the Netherlands. You can therefore feel confident that no matter what your interest may be (perhaps you don’t even know yourself yet), I can give you high quality training in your own interests.

What to expect- Beginners
For beginners, I take the time to let you get acquainted with the trumpet, learning repertoire, simple theory and technique, gradually moving to more advanced studies and incorporating jazz into the equation.

Jazz Basics
My jazz lessons start with the basics - learning simple music theory and harmony, the appropriate scales and getting a taste for the jazz language, common repertoire and the tradition.

Challenge
As you advance, we will explore more challenging rhythm, harmony and melody. Learning musical transcription (the process of writing down sounds on to paper) is crucial for development and also covered in lessons as well as mental-practise. For trumpet players the true key to success. Of course, my lessons are always friendly, relaxed and personal!

Intermediate - Advanced
My lessons consist of trumpet technique, i.e gaining the facility to be able to meet the demands of professional trumpet playing and the knowledge to deal with the daily struggles of what is essentially a very a demanding instrument.

Breathing Embouchure
This of course includes breathing, posture, embouchure, articulation, long tones, sound production, flexibility, finger dexterity, endurance, scales/arpeggios, sight-reading and ear training. It is important to develop everyday fundamental routines: keeping in shape, as well as devising formalised structures within trumpet practise. The often heard phrase goes - it's not how long you practise but how and what - which is incredibly relevant to trumpet players.

Flexible and able to travel
I live in the Hague and teach from my apartment, but am happy to travel to another location if it’s convenient!
Home lessons in Delft may be arranged.

When starting out, choosing what trumpet to buy can be confusing and sometimes stressful! I am happy to give advice and accompany you to a music shop, to ensure the choice you make is right for you.

About Laurie
Born and raised in the colourful and vibrant seaside city of Brighton (UK), Laurie began playing the trumpet aged 7 and grew up playing in the local Brighton and London music scene. He studied classical music at Royal Holloway University of London where he graduated with honours and won the Dame Felicity Lott award for performance in 2014. Since then he has resided in the Netherlands playing and studying with many musicians from the Dutch and European jazz scene. In 2016 he graduated from Codarts Conservatory Cum Laude having studied formally under the Dutch jazz-master Jarmo Hoogendijk amongst others.

In 2018 he graduated with a master’s degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam receiving the highest mark ever to be given by the department. As a band-leader his quartet received 3rd place at the Leiden Jazz Competition in 2016 and in the same year made an appearance at North Sea Jazz Festival. In 2018, his quintet was selected as finalists of both the Keep-an-Eye Jazz Awards and the prestigious Dutch Jazz Competition. To date he has made numerous appearances at jazz venues and festivals in and around the Netherlands and currently resides in The Hague (NL) teaching students, giving performances and making music with friends.

My name is Miguel Valles and I am a trumpet player and music educator based in Den Haag with a Master’s degree in Classical and Contemporary Music from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) in Barcelona.

As a performer, I have collaborated with several prominent orchestras such as Het Balletorkest, , Residentie Orkest , NJO Orkest , NASKA . Alongside my performance experience, I have developed a strong passion for teaching. I have worked as a trumpet teacher at Hamelin-Laie International School, Gras i Soler School, and Esplugues del Llobregat Music School in Barcelona, where I taught students of different ages and skill levels.

I am fluent in both English and spanish, and I am currently studying Dutch. My teaching approach is focused on developing both technical skills and musical expression in an engaging and student-centered environment.
