Mandarin conversation, voabulary and grammar practice

I am a fluent mandarin speaker so this class has the aim to practice conversation and also help with grammar and vocabulary in the process. This class can also be tailored towards helping with homework and tutoring that the student might need help with. My goal is to help the student gain confidence and practice their language abilities so they can take their skills outside of the class.

Hello, my name is Ruby. I am from the United States, but I am currently teaching English at a k-8 school in Madrid, Spain. I began learning languages from a young age and went to a bilingual school where I learned Mandarin. Then in high school and college I continued my Chinese studies while also picking up Spanish. I graduated college from Lewis and Clark college with a major in World Languages and a minor in Political Economy. Learning languages has given me so many amazing opportunities to interact and learn about different people and cultures and I love sharing my passion for language with others. If I had to describe myself in three words I would describe myself as kind, open and funny which I think is reflected in my teaching style. I really want to give my students a safe place to learn, take chances, make mistakes and gain confidence in their language abilities.

English vocabulary, grammar and conversation practice

I am an English tutor, especially geared towards students learning English as a second language. I have experience teaching at a school in Spain with a wide range of students from 1st grade to high school. And also have experience teaching in the United States teaching university students English during a summer course. This class will include vocabulary, grammar, and conversation practice for students. I will prepare subjects to go over, but also am more than happy to tailor classes to specific subjects or topics the student interested in. I want to make sure my students are equipt with the fundamental building blocks of the language to be able to both understand and communicate. Most importantly, I want to do it in a way such that they are engaged in learning and also given chances to practice and gain confidence to take their skills outside of the lesson and into real life situations; this is done through fun interactive activities and conversation, and not just grammar focus. My classes will try to achieve complete immersion in English, but for students who are absolute beginners I am also to explain in their native language if needed; I can also speak Chinese and Spanish.
