I’m 27 years old and I’m an ICU nurse. I was born in the Netherlands and went to live in France at nine years old. I came to Belgium when I was 20.
I also studied French literature and philosophy for two years.
I enjoy talking about medicine, sports, travelling, history, literature, philosophy, politics and I’m willing to learn about many other subjects.

FLE teacher graduated from the Alliance française Bruxelles-Europe. I taught in Laos (1 year in a local school) in Peru (1 year in a college and in a French alliance), in Moscow (2 years in a private language school), in Brussels (6 month in an association that delivers courses to newcomers and the F9 for private and group lessons at the ULB).
The type of teaching that I favor is based on active pedagogy, constant interaction of the learner with his teacher and his environment, a cultural exchange and a clear and precise understanding of the objectives to be achieved.
To apply this practice I use a lot: authentic documents (radio and TV programs, articles, reports, songs, testimonials, ...), the role play (theatrical exercises), games are a founding element of my teaching (playful and recreational approach of the language), the debates (the experience and the personal history being the raw material to animate them), reading (books and comics: phonetics), the grammatical exercises in adequacy with the theme ( didactics of FLE and grammatical methodology)

I have facilitated workshops and given classes throughout my career all over the world.

English pronunciation is essential these days because English is spoken everywhere and all the time.

I followed specialized training such as the verb tonal method, Feldenkrais or mental coaching.

We are therefore going to work in a slightly different way by combining articulatory techniques, movement, rhythm, intonation, warming up of the jaw and tongue, stretching of the neck, neck and shoulders to arrive to very fast results.

Since I believe that the learning environment is one of the keys to successful language learning, I endeavor to make students feel comfortable and content in my lessons: to ask questions if they are unsure and keep an easy but rewarding pace of learning.

Depending on how my students feel they learn English most effectively, I adapt my lessons to use materials that give them the best results possible. For instance, some students find the continuity of a coursebook effective, while others prefer to be more flexible with articles and podcasts. I know from experience that every student is unique.

I gave French as a foreign language lessons for about three years, to children and adults. After a two-year break, here I am back to start teaching French as a foreign language again.

I speak several languages, and this taught me to understand how to learn a language. I know what non-French speakers go through, what process they have to go through in order to learn French.

I adapt each time my way of teaching at the request of the student. I prefer to create the course with the student (if he or she also prefers it, of course) so that I can best meet the needs of the person I am teaching. Hey you! Do you want to learn English or improve it? You are in the right place!
English is one of the most common and useful languages in the world, whether for work, travelling, watching series in original version, understanding your favorite American or English star...

What? An English course for both beginners and advanced, both for children and adults... we discover the basics of the language, grammar and useful vocabulary in a fun way, or we deepen these knowledge, with some revisions if necessary. Obviously, we will tackle all skills: reading, writing, speaking and hearing.

Who? I'm Julie, a fan of languages, I've already mastered almost four, and I always want to discover new ones. English has (almost) no more secrets for me. I'm also a photographer and a photography teacher on the side, so I have a background in building lessons with lots of practice.

How? For one to two hours (two hours recommended to progress more efficiently), I always prepare my lessons specially and in an up-to-date way, using recent articles, relevant and useful vocabulary on a daily basis. Classes are currently only taking place online, as I am not in Belgium.
