10 german teachers in Montreux

As a qualified teacher with experience in primary, secondary, high school, and vocational education, and a Master's degree in German studies, I adopt a pedagogical approach based on the development of linguistic and transversal skills. The objective of my teaching is not limited to simple language acquisition, but aims for lasting, functional, and contextualized mastery of German. What is competence-oriented learning? A student is proficient in German when he or she is able to: ✔ Mobilize your knowledge: rely on your knowledge or independently search for the necessary information. ✔ Understand and use linguistic and cultural concepts: express ideas clearly and use appropriate vocabulary and structures in various situations. ✔ Solve problems and accomplish tasks: Use linguistic, communication and cultural skills to analyze, understand and respond to situations effectively. ✔ Plan and organize your work: establish learning strategies, make appropriate decisions and demonstrate perseverance and rigor. ✔ Adopt an active and methodical approach: use varied learning strategies and exploit educational opportunities in an autonomous and thoughtful manner. ✔ Working collaboratively: interacting with others, cooperating and adapting skills to different contexts and modes of communication. Active and Interactive Pedagogy My approach is based on dynamic teaching methods, which encourage active student involvement: 📖 Contextualized learning: real-life situations, case studies and exploration of authentic documents. 🗣 Development of oral and written skills: dialogues, role plays, written production and text analysis. 🌍 Intercultural approach: discovery of German-speaking cultures through literature, history and the media. 🛠 Learning strategies and autonomy: using effective methods to memorize, structure ideas and express yourself with confidence. 🔍 Formative assessment and differentiated support: personalized monitoring allowing each student to progress at their own pace and according to their needs. Teaching Objectives 🎯 Develop strong language skills for fluent and relevant communication. 🎯 Promote student autonomy by giving them the methodological tools to learn effectively. 🎯 Encourage a reflective and critical approach to linguistic and cultural content. 🎯 Prepare students for academic and professional requirements (exams, certifications, multilingual professional contexts). This competence-oriented approach allows us to go beyond passive language learning to use it as a lever for communication, reflection, and cultural integration. It develops in students not only linguistic knowledge, but also the ability to adapt and learn independently, essential in a constantly changing world.

Trusted teacher: I offer you a new learning experience. The focus is on practical application and theory is only introduced where intuition reaches its limits. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, my tailor-made lessons will accelerate your language acquisition in a positive learning environment. You can book a complete course with regular sessions or individual lessons to overcome a specific problem, such as pronunciation or a particular point in grammar. Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise. There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge: When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next. When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster. Learning is easy, but unlearning bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. My offer is aimed at both young people and adults who want to learn German or improve their knowledge without wasting time on nonsensical school methods. I offer individual or group lessons for German. The methods are based on cognitive science and, in particular, comparative linguistics. My flexible programme can be tailored to your individual needs. The programme focuses on your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life. What is particularly important to me: motivating my students and help them establish a learning rhythm; encouraging their creativity; helping them become more familiar with the language; teaching them the letters and their sounds; strengthening their memory by training their phonological loop; teaching sentence building plans instead of memorising sentences; explaining how language works so that my students can become independent as quickly as possible. I look forward to meeting you.

Trusted teacher: University graduate in German language and literature (Master of Letters in German with specialization in medieval languages and literature) with a solid experience, gives private German lessons for all levels. My lessons are adapted according to the needs of the student. They aim to consolidate concepts, fill gaps, prepare for exams (maturity, compulsory school leaving certificates, entrance exams to gymnasiums and universities, Goethe Zertifikat up to B2). Opportunity to learn the language. For school supports: This is above all long-term work, which implies on my part taking the time to "learn how to learn" in an effective manner: every exercise is explained in detail, which can make its execution easier. slower. Quality takes priority over quantity in order to obtain optimal results over time. Students bring their own course materials (notebooks, books, audio CDs, dictionaries, assessments, etc.). Another important point: in order for my help to be beneficial, it is necessary that the student provides regular personal work between lessons. This essentially involves rereading your notes, repeating exercises similar to those carried out together or even moving forward in learning vocabulary. For conversation classes: The topics are based on interests and/or specific needs for exam preparation. I attach particular importance to pronunciation, fluency and vocabulary. I usually correct at the end of a conversation exercise with detailed feedback, in order to avoid any blockages and to work on fluency. Depending on the level of the students and/or their expectations (exam preparations/assessments/desire for improvement for example), I work on the choice of appropriate words, grammatical accuracy, the ability to formulate more or less complex sentences. For exam preparations: The courses offer to acquire solid tools to learn to write, to comment on literary texts and a methodology to work on oral comprehension. The student must bring their own exam preparation brochure, available in all bookstores. For Goethe Institute model exams, the exam books from Cornlesen are particularly suitable. The other alternative would be to download and print before the start of the course a copy of the Goethe Institute exam available on the institute's website. For the oral comprehension: Work from audio-visual viewings downloaded from the Deutsche Welle site, which offer various recordings adapted to all levels, with a very concrete approach. In the long term, the student acquires ease not only in oral comprehension, but also enriches his basic vocabulary through exercises. I also work on the Goethe Institut oral tests to familiarize myself with speaking. For the work of the written expression: I begin by explaining in the first lesson some methodological tools to acquire writing skills. The student has the opportunity to start writing during the course or do a writing exercise on duty and give it to me to correct (send by email or at the beginning of the next lesson). The corrections are explained in detail. In addition, at the time of booking, the student can send me a draft copy before the lesson so that I can meet his needs even more quickly. Apart from my presence with the student, every lesson involves preparation time before and after the lesson, particularly for the work that I correct. My goal being to design an individualized course, I take the time necessary to write detailed comments on corrected work or advice to ensure maximum success for everyone. In addition, each student can contact me at any time outside of class by email if necessary. Feel free to contact me for more information. :)

Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw. But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients... That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.

She is such a sweet and patient teacher, whenever I’d practice speaking and mess up some parts of my speech we’d go back and review previous classes. She makes good use of excellent videos and audios for both, basic and advanced levels.
