My name is Cameron. I am a tutor and teacher with more than 10 years of experience both in the US and internationally. For school, I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with Highest Honors (top 99.5% of my class). While at Berkeley I also received a minor in creative writing and worked closely for three years with Robert Hass, Pulitzer Prize winning US Poet Laureate and translator of two Nobel Prize poets. I have taught for three major companies and privately, and I was the head SAT and ACT teacher for Spark Prep in Vietnam, the most successful college prep company in the country, where the rate for private instruction was 275 dollars an hour. In addition to SAT and ACT, I have taught Creative Writing, Poetry, Literature, Physics, Calculus, English Language, many AP tests, the GRE and LSAT. I have also helped students on many aspects of their undergraduate and graduate college applications to many of the top universities in the world including Cornell, University of California, Princeton and Yale. I specialize in creating individual instruction plans for a wide range of students of all levels. The score improvement of our students is generally more than two times that of companies like Princeton Review and Kaplan Test Prep. Also available for teaching groups of two and more. Send message to ask about pricing. Some parent recommendations.... “Cameron has worked with our son, Collin throughout his Junior year in High School and beyond to help prepare him for the SAT Exam. After mastering the tools that Cameron prepared him with, Collin’s SAT score increased by hundreds of points, resulting in numerous early action college acceptances.” Ken and Debra “Cameron was great for Andrew. Over a few months Cameron helped Andrew improve his SAT score 440 points, guided him through all of his college application essays, and even helped set up a portfolio website of his writing for prospective colleges. I would highly recommend Cameron for anyone’s college prep needs.” Julie “We highly recommend Cameron’s tutoring, without reservation. Our son (now a senior in high school) has long struggled with ADD and dyslexia. Organizing his thoughts and writing about them has always been a particular challenge for him. To help him, Cameron used a unique approach to writing, which involved relating the topic to one’s own personal experience and emotions, and which turned out to be the key that unlocked his writing ability. Not only did Cameron coach him through his required OAKS achievement testing, but our son, always rated a below average writer, scored an unbelievable 700 on the SAT writing exam after preparing with Cameron. More importantly, he gained a huge amount of confidence in his ability to express his thoughts, which will help him in the music college he will be attending.” Marge

I scored a 1550 on the SAT and have been helping students prepare for the SAT for over 3 years, with a consistent focus on helping students reach and exceed the 1500+ range. This class is designed to go beyond simply reviewing SAT content. We will focus on strategy, efficiency, accuracy, and the specific habits that separate a good SAT score from an exceptional one. What we will focus on - How to approach difficult SAT questions efficiently - Strategies for consistently scoring 1500+ - How to recognize common SAT question patterns and traps - Techniques for eliminating answer choices quickly - How to manage time effectively across the entire test - When to use your calculator and how to use it efficiently - How to approach unfamiliar questions without getting stuck - Strategies for maximizing both Math and Reading & Writing - Common mistakes that prevent students from breaking 1500 - How to analyze practice tests and identify exactly where points are being lost - How to turn weaknesses into measurable score improvements Advanced strategies for students already scoring in the 1400–1500+ range We will work through challenging, realistic SAT-style questions and focus on why certain approaches work, rather than simply memorizing rules or solutions. Whether you are trying to break 1400, reach 1500, or push toward 1550+, the goal of this class is to give you a clear strategy for approaching the SAT and maximizing every available point. You don't need to know everything to score 1500+. You need to know how to recognize the question, choose the right strategy, and execute it efficiently.
