Knowing the grammatical basics of English is essential if you want to use it best in your work or when traveling. In England, where I have lived for over thirty years, I teach French and English as a foreign language on the internet or during language stays at home. Holder of a TESOL English teaching diploma, I have a long experience and the advantage of understanding the difficulties encountered more specifically by French speakers. I prepare for school curriculum exams and TOEIC.
The French language unites us but it is also a source of inequality. When a potential boss receives a cover letter jam-packed with grammar mistakes, they won't even read the included resume. With only five lessons of one hour each, I can give you the keys to avoiding the most common mistakes. How? 'Or' What ? Not by giving yourself a boring school grammar class like you must have had in college. For more than twenty years, I have been teaching French in the United Kingdom where grammar is little or badly taught. At the start of my career, my biggest challenge as a French as a foreign language teacher was to introduce grammatical rules without scaring my English-speaking students away. Over the years, I have refined my method so much so that now, with some of my classes, I ask my students to correct the mistakes that we find in French newspaper articles or on the internet. Our first lesson will be an assessment of your own needs because it would be useless to waste time on grammar points that you already master.
