Hi, I'm a Chemical Engineering student at Imperial College London. I specialise in tutoring High-school Maths, Chemistry and Physics, more specifically for the International Baccalaureate (IB). I am an alumni of the British School of Brussels (BSB) where I have also worked as a math assistant. I aim to accomplish whatever my students goal is, wether that be a 7 in HL maths etc... This means that each of my tutoring sessions are tailor made depending on each of my students needs.

About Me

I'm originally form Belgium and Luxembourg, however I have lived in several different countries, hence why I have been in the English learning system my whole life. I speak French and Im in the process of learning Spanish. I love sports, namely cycling, running, and swimming.

Currently studying in Master 2 (automation engineer orientation), I have enjoyed teaching scientific subjects to the less experienced for 4 years now.

I have always had excellent contact with young people (scouting, ADEPS certified holiday center instructor, NGO) and private lessons are now my main activity behind my studies.

Having already ensured a total of about thirty young people, some in private lessons and others in classes (of 4-5 young people), I have acquired substantial experience in the field of private education, and this for all high school levels.

With this extensive experience in my background, I have already explained at least once each subject of the secondary program in any year. Over the years, I have been able to learn, experiment and find the most effective ways to convey each of these subjects.

Finally, my engineering studies allow me to take a more practical approach to the subject, which is greatly appreciated by secondary school students, who all too often find themselves not knowing what the purpose of the maths and sciences they are taught are. .

Having conducted international-level experimental and theoretical scientific research for many years (PhD University of Cambridge, National Physical Laboratory, Max-Planck Institute, KUL, and UCL) I offer tailored and adaptive tutoring in mathematics, chemistry, and physics.

I cater to each student's individual needs and capabilities. I help with school by also adding in my own worksheets to complete together which relates to the current work that they are covering In their syllabus. Each student is individual and would there be treated the way that they would learn in an optimal manner.

I would spend a lot more time with the students before exams to ensure that they have a decent understanding of every topic that may appear in the exam. I often use past paper examples as a way of preparation. Considering my own international schooling, I do very much understand the high level of requirements of some syllabus.

My name is Maximilien, I am 23 years old and I am currently a Master 2 student at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) where I am pursuing a Master's degree in Energy Engineering in English.

After completing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering at UCLouvain (physics-chemistry and mechanics option), I decided to continue my studies at the neighboring university.
The subjects I teach are mathematics, chemistry and physics.

I like to actively involve my students in the course so that they understand the material well but above all that they find interest in it. I start from the principle that it is difficult to succeed in a subject without appreciating it a minimum and above all finding what it really serves us for!

In general, I like to start by reviewing the latest questions/exams to assess the level and needs of the student.
Then we go through the theory necessary to carry out the exercises and finally finish with exercise sessions together.
