AnnaEnglish (including as an Additional Language, Humanities (History, Geography, Religion), Test preparation
My name is Anna and I am a qualified teacher, currently teaching on a supply basis within the international schools around Zug. My PGCE (English teaching qualification) focused on English and History and I have experience teaching in both the IB curriculum at both Middle School and High School level.
My classes are flexible based on the needs of my pupils. I understand that everyone learns differently, and it is very important to me to get to know my students as individuals. Normally I would follow the syllabus curriculum, but I am also very happy to tailor lessons on a more individual basis. I make sure that lessons are varied, including quizzes and different activities and also record pupils' progress on a weekly and quarterly basis.
Initially I will meet with the pupil and/or parents to discuss individual needs and to create an individualised progression plan for each pupil, so that everyone is comfortable.

I am an experienced English tutor and have tutored different students with varying abilities.
My class is dependent on the needs of my students including; IELTS, conversational English, Business English, GCSE & A-level (English, Math and Science)
From my experience, I understand that everyone learns in a different way and at different pace, so I aim to tailor my style depending on the student.
My lessons are usually based on the syllabus (and beyond-depending on the student/parent preference. However, I am comfortable teaching certain topics.
Being a student myself I can relate to young learners I understand while they may know a lot about a certain topic, they might not be able to apply themselves to answer the question, therefore, I always aim to include exam technique/questions in my lessons.
The younger children (4 -14 y.o) I teach have shorter attention spans and find it more difficult to grasp new concepts and ideas, so I like to incorporate games, quizes and challenges in my lessons.
Before each lesson I like to test my students on previous topics, the test will be 5-10 minutes long consisting of 5 questions differing in difficulty. This is for me to know what the student does/does not understand, and for the student to reinforce any information.
