Piano&Music Lessons by Aleksandra (Buenos Aires-London-Rotterdam)Piano, harmony, music theory, aural training, arrangements and composition dedicated teacher. Vast experience with different ages and levels, preparation for international exams, auditions and competitions.
"I am a superior piano professor and I have started teaching in Buenos Aires, Argentina, my home country, 8 years ago. Recently I was living in London, UK, where I worked as a full-time piano teacher in WKMT Piano Institute where I have trained and developed my pedagogic skills working with students from all around the world. This experience allowed me to mentor from professionals to early ages with very diverse backgrounds. These are the kind of experiences worth working for, and that confirm my engagement to my pedagogic aims.
Building structures that fight to give a voice to the speechless is one of the values I learnt to care the most as a working woman, and that is the reason why I feel engaged with teaching music. Music is a tool to learn a whole different language and improve intelligence and creativity, no matter which is your background. Music is a way of finding how to express yourself in a specific language, and it is at the same time a fun and fascinating process. As a music teacher, I face a challenge every time I train a student, because learning music and learning piano implies a very personal developement.
I continued this project in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where I became a Master of Music in World Music (Tango-Jazz Composition) at CODARTS University. I intend to keep sharing my knowledge and experience with new students."

My specialty is classical music, but I can also teach other styles of music (pop, jazz, minimal...), although I like to mix all of them in order to have a wider view and repertoire. Music theory, solfege, harmony, counterpoint and music history lessons are also available separately for a more detailed approach, but you will also learn some little things about them when playing the piano!
All ages and levels are welcome, it is never too late to start learning something new!

Further on, we can explore new repertoire and unknown composers, refine your playing and learn how to deal with difficulties, discuss about interpretation issues and even work on your performance on stage.
With music theory, we can dive into the alphabet and syntactic of music: the world harmony, rhythm, solfege and analysis.

Alex
Guitar lessons, ukulele lessons and music theory lessonsThrough his studies in Rotterdam, Alex had the opportunity to learn guitar with teachers from different backgrounds and influences (classical, latin, jazz, flamenco, Turkish, Indian, jazz composition and pop).
This led him to study his instrument and investigate music through multiple angles and perspectives, accumulating complementary knowledge to fully understand and synthesize its functioning.
After achieving a degree in guitar (performance and pedagogy), he started to devise exercises and systems of learning through his own method, refining it as time went on. He then started to teach what he had learned and developed, first in private classes then through music schools.
Alex's priorities through the lessons are development, motivation and interest. It's very important that there is a constructive evolution in the pupil's playing, a constant will to move forward, as well as pieces/songs that inspire him or her.
It's important that the pupils learn through an efficient and personal method, but also through their own interest and repertoire (wishlist).
In a teaching lesson the focus is put on :
- guitar posture, technique and sound
- timing and rhythmic feel
- strumming and grooves
- interpretation
- theory and knowledge of music
- improvisation
- repertoire (on student's wishlist)
There are three dimensions to a student's programme : scores, tutorials and coaching.
Having a Master's degree in Jazz composition (Rotterdam), Alex designs the scores himself, making arrangements of pieces / songs in an accessible way, along with his method and exercises for guitar technique. The scores are written with a hybrid notation (music notation and tab notation), and with all the information necessary about the right and left hand.
After having agreed on the pieces / songs to be worked on, the relevant score is shared and given at the lesson. The teacher goes through it, while he also plays it live to the pupil for even more reach. He then explains what needs to be clarified in order to prepare any homework.
Finally, Alex creates a video tutorial about the piece or song that needs to be learned for the next lesson. This gives extra support when practising at home, in order to avoid any doubt and keep motivation up.
A report is then created to keep track of what has been done as well as what needs to be worked on, in order to unlock technical requirements and complete a specific repertoire in a constructive and efficient way.
Alex teaches in Rotterdam at home or at the pupil's own location ; lessons are in Dutch, English or French, for all ages and levels. The teacher mainly gives live lessons, where he works with his pupils on specific material (technique and repertoire). If for any reason a live lesson can't take place, it is of course possible to follow an online lesson. Lessons last 30 minutes or 45 minutes, weekly or biweekly.
Celia
Professional pianist, Piano Teacher and Music Therapy student offer music and piano lessons in the Netherlands. Good quality :)Piano performance & Music therapy
Hello! My name is Celia. I’m from Spain and I’m currently studying Music Therapy at the Rotterdam conservatory.
I recently become a Music Therapy intern at Florence, The Hague.
I obtained my bachelor diploma in piano performance in 2016.
I have performed concerts as a soloist, in duet with other pianists and in bigger ensembles/orchestras.
Since I moved to the Netherlands, I’m also part of a music trio where we perform pop, jazz, arrangements and compositions from our singer. All these experiences together give me for sure a big capacity of working repertoire and understand the different needs of my students as a teacher! 🙂
As I’m in education as a therapist, I also use all my knowledge in combination with Music Therapy skills with all my students and especially with people who demand a different experience during a music lesson.
Music Therapy techniques allow you to play music without any knowledge of theory, so it’s very useful when in the middle of the lesson you need a break or when you just need to connect with yourself, for example. Music Therapy triggers your curiosity 😉
Learn & explore
During more than 10 years of experience as a teacher, I have worked all kind of people: children, adults, people with disabilities, families… I’m quite flexible and able to adapt my way of teaching to the circumstances!
I like to work individually and in groups. Each way has its own advantages!
In my lessons I use all methods I could experiment myself among my piano career; I’m also always open for new knowledge, repertoire and ways of working what my students may propose me. It’s fascinating how I never stop learning new repertoire and music styles thanks to my students!
I try to offer music in a different way for every student according to their needs, with creativity and a relaxed ambience where the student can learn and explore. Each person has his/her own rhythm… which in my opinion is very important to respect.
I also work with music theory, explaining concepts to my students from the pieces we play. I find this way is effective, instructive and much more motivating 🙂
In my lessons, we can work on classical, jazz, pop, arrangements, 4-hands piano music, improvisation and much more!
Happiness
Music needs a bit of commitment. It’s like a plant: a bit of water every day is much better than a lot of water just one day per week! However, every plant is different, and in the end, the important thing is that you feel happy and motivated during your learning process. This is also important for me, so for sure I always try my best to help my students in that aspect. The enjoyment of music (and everything) makes you learn much faster, don’t you think?
Feel free to ask any kind of question! :)
