About Me

My teaching methods are very much student-orientated, energetic and fun so that my students can feel comfortable. I always tailor my classes based on their strengths, weaknesses and abilities to learn English as a foreign language. I have taught all levels and ages of students - as young as 5 years to adults of 60 years old- which made me a very patient and flexible teacher. I use a variety of methods and activities. I focus on building on what has already been learnt.

Throughout my teaching career, I had to adopt to many different cultures - Cambodian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Saudi Arabian - which made me understand the differences in students' behavior towards learning and their teachers. For me, it is very important to create a safe environment for them, to use positive encouragement all the time and to focus on their strength instead of their weaknesses. I have seen tremendous progress in my students confidence, level of English and attitude towards me and the English classes. They feel comfortable with me and they are also having fun, because making them laugh is also part of being a teacher.

I love reading books, especially fictions that has some deeper message to convey to the readers. I really enjoy writing a journal, meditating and doing yoga, as I think it is important to take care of our mental health on a daily basis. Going for a walk, playing with my dog and going to the gym are all important parts of my routine in order to keep myself healthy and fit. I love cooking and baking too - mainly vegan and vegetarian dishes. I travel a lot too in order to learn about new cultures, experience cultural differences and to make friends from all over the world.I make videos of my travels as I am trying to learn new skills, such as video - and photo editing.
