I have over 10 years of experience playing classical and jazz music. I can help train your ear, improve your tone, sight-reading and anything that you’d like support with. I’ve learnt from many professionals from conservertoires across the UK and would love the share the knowledge.

Everybody can sing!
In my classes I will guide you to find your own voice, through vocal exercises and movements, self-perception and listening. My desire is that the student enjoys his or her voice and singing without hurting or using extra tension and specially that he/she has the tools to know the instrument, so to know yourself.
In addition to vocal technique, I offer interpretation tools and music theory through repertoire work (songs) so that the student can interpret different styles and sing along with other musicians.
I studied vocal technique with teachers from the Rabine Institute in Germany and I have also taken a lot of courses of dance, theater and Alexander Technique that I use for my lessons in order to have an holistic approach of the voice and our body as an instrument. Let's have fun!

The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music.

In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument.

We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues. He also plays as a member of the contemporary music groups Korvat Auki and the Nyky Ensemble.
His main musical interests at the moment are the collaborations with living composers, chamber music with different ensembles, and interdisciplinary improvisation.
Diogo performances have taken place in many venues such as the Philharmonie of Essen, OrchesterZentrum Dortmund, Music Center Helsinki, Turku Castle, Liceu Auditorium Barcelona, Casa da Música do Porto, and many more.

Diogo's recognition includes prizes in some international competitions and the recent recognition at the 2022 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy competition for Contemporary Ensembles and the recent participation at the prestigious Josip Nochta Competition in Zagreb, Croatia.
