After studying in Japan and the United States, I have worked with orchestras, chamber groups, and students from diverse backgrounds.

To learn double bass is a winning decision in the competitive world of music due to its high demand in orchestras, chamber music, bands and recording sessions. During the lessons you will learn from a professional and improve your musical skills such as rhythm, intonation, musicality and develop a profound sense of sound quality. All the lessons are planned in advance, based on the student's personal interests and needs.

Basles for young and old
Everyone is welcome: young and old. Age does not matter. It is never too late to learn to play a musical instrument. Making music is fun and healthy!

Basles for beginners and advanced
Everyone is welcome: beginners and advanced. Your entry level doesn't matter. Playing bass guitar is my specialization and I can teach everyone a lot. During a trial lesson we look at what you can already do and what you would like to learn, what your inspirations are and who your idols are. From there we make a plan and we give substance to the lesson.

Basles: what do you learn?
In consultation with you I give substance to the lesson. Together we will see which music styles, bands and artists you like. We can then choose songs that suit your level and ambitions and I will teach you how to play these songs. Based on the songs and a method book I will teach you the following:

-the right attitude
-the right techniques
-the corresponding theory
read notes and tabs
read and play chords
-training your ears
grooves
-jams
-slaps

You will learn all this in a cozy and casual atmosphere, with professional equipment in my home studio.

About the Lesson:

Are you a music enthusiast that wants to start learning how to play? Are you an already good player but you want to further develop your skills?
In these lessons, we will create a curriculum together, based on your wishes, needs and musical taste. Our goal is for you to be able to express yourself through your instrument.
I will guide and help you to achieve this goal by providing the following classes:

All these classes can be taught seperately. Nevertheless, during our instrumental lesson we will cover a portion of the material of all the modules.

The world of teaching is familiar to me. Indeed, I have been working as a private music teacher in France for 5 years. In addition, in Venezuela, I worked as a music teacher in schools, at university and at the conservatory. Capable of adapting quickly to new professional environments, I have a particular interest in teaching and education, and I attach great importance to pedagogy.

Depending on the motivation of the students and their age, I am able to find methods likely to adapt to each experience. I provide my lessons in a fun way to fully understand the musical language through ear training work (or ear training), conferences, the piano as a tool to understand the instrument studied. I also dedicate part of the time to Technical Aspects (very important to avoid undesirable posture effects).

Hi,

I'm a french bassist based in London. I'm looking to give courses to people who want to learn bass basics or more advanced stuff, as much as technical skills (like slap) to harmony and theory. Also can give Upright Bass courses.
I can learn several music styles, from jazz standards to pop/rock through hip hop and funk for all levels. I can also play bass synth and a little keyboard and guitar.

I learned music at the Conservatory of Paris in France, starting cello at 5 in classical music, then started bass and upright bass at the jazz department. I have a lot of band experiences, from a small band to big band, played a lot of music styles with them like Latin, fusion, jazz-rock, funk, soul... As many covers as there are compositions. I'm also productor for rappers or singers, producing on Logic Pro X.

Deux fois par mois, j'anime des Ateliers Jazz dans un studio du 10ème avec d'autres musiciens, un moment dédié au jeu en groupe, à l'improvisation, l apprentissage des conventions, dépasser le stress du jeu en groupe.
J'attache beaucoup d'importance à la respiration, la décontraction et la posture, un travail approfondi permet une plus grande agilité et prévient les douleurs liées à la pratique.

I graduated in Master Performance and Master Pedagogy at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève and I have been playing the double bass since 2012. Currently I am a double bass teacher at AIDA in Gland and a substitute at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique de Genève. As a teacher, I focus on the student's technical difficulties, without forgetting the theoretical and sentimental aspects of music.

I offer in-person and online lessons in double bass and electric bass, improvisation (all instruments, from general ideas to specific concepts) and composition, specializing in Western and experimental notated music and creatively using Ableton as a composition tool. I am based in Berlin-Neukölln and Tempelhof or can come to your location.

I am active throughout Europe as a composer, performer and improviser, and also perform regularly in Berlin. As well as being a full-time professional musician, I was a senior lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire, UK, from 2018-2023, developing and delivering courses and curriculums, and have been a private teacher for 15 years. I hold Bachelor and Master's degrees in music, double bass and composition and have studied at schools in Birmingham, Paris and Berlin.

Our lessons are based around the areas you are most interested in developing, and together we come up with a plan to help you move closer to your goals and goals, whether that be learning specific songs or repertoire, being able to improvise basslines or solos, improving techniques etc. I am open to all ways of learning at all levels, from beginners to professionals. I also offer free optional audio or video feedback between lessons which can serve as useful reminders of ideas, techniques, exercises etc. or just to check in.

Instrumental lessons are relaxed and can include theory, composition and improvisation from the beginning to help develop well-rounded musical skills. Improvisation lessons are suitable for all instruments/vocals and can cover specific musical contexts such as jazz, free improvisation, interpretation of new music (contemporary music) etc.

In my teaching career I have also had the opportunity to develop specialist music projects with children and young adults, using interesting, fun and creative starting points. At the same time my current students range from age 16-50+ and my practice as a professional improviser allows me to be flexible and keep things interesting across all ages, ability levels and genres. Ultimately, it is about developing a personal relationship with the instrument or music, that keeps you engaged and having fun!
