About Me

Hi there. My name is Fatemeh, and I am bilingual in English and Persian, and I speak Turkish quite fluently (C1). Honestly, I love learning languages and being able to communicate with people from different backgrounds. I believe that learning a new language is much more than just learning the technical characteristics of a target language. It is about opening new windows of opportunity, exploring them and gaining new perspectives on life.

I have a bachelor's degree in English language and literature, as well as a masters degree in journalism and mass communication. I also have a 120 hour TEFL certificate.

I have been teaching ESL and EFL for over fourteen years. I have extensive experience in a wide variety of subject areas with all age groups. I have taught kindergarten to grade 12, corporate business classes, special classes such as TOEFL / IELTS, and even travel courses. Teaching English allows me to do what I love most, which is communicating with people from different backgrounds, learning about them and giving them the language tools they need to excel in life. It also gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge with my students and, thereby, help them achieve their goals and objectives.

I have also worked as a journalist for more than 13 years, covering stories and events from all around the world. I often make use of my tenure in the media industry to help my students create new thoughts and ideas and encourage them to learn more.

Generally speaking, my lessons are very interactive and enjoyable and depending on the level of my students and their learning needs, I use a variety of different methods and techniques to keep my lessons interesting. I set goals for my students at the beginning of each lesson, and together we work to accomplish them. I will help you develop your conversational skills; improve your pronunciation; improve your reading and writing for business or study; and even helps you prepare for exams, such as TOEFL and IELTS, in minimal time. You will also enjoy my conversational English lessons, and before you even know it, you will have mastered the art of everyday English!

I do not like to spend my time idly because I believe that this life is a valuable gift that we should all appreciate. You can call me a bookworm because I spend a lot of time reading and exploring various subjects such as history, science, human behavior, psychology, theology, etc. I also like to meditate and communicate with my deeper consciousness.

I have a B.A in English Language and Literature from Tehran University, a four-year special degree which included the study of Applied Linguistics, English Language Teaching, and Literature.

I also have a masters degree in Mass Communication which provided me with knowledge of liberal arts and writing through courses such as broadcast journalism, ethical issues in public relations and the fundamentals of mass communication.
