I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.

Hi, I am Thore. I’m a German Bachelors degree flute student at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. During my studies here I could and still can gather a lot of knowledge about methodology and pedagogy and could already make a few teaching experiences. Hello! I am a 29 year old Australian Musician, recently located in Berlin. I graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Masters on Bassoon Performance. I have a passion for both teaching and playing the Bassoon and flute, and believe in creating a positive and exciting environment for students. I have 8 years experience as a flute and Bassoon tutor across multiple schools in Sydney, and have recently begun teaching in London since September to students ranging from 4-16 years old! I have also work as a freelance bassoonist in the UK, with orchestras such as Royal Opera House, BBC National orchestra of Wales and European Chamber Orchestra. I have worked within several Australian orchestras and chamber groups, such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Opera Australia and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. My teaching experience is extensive, especially for my age. I have worked for 6 years as a Flute and Bassoon teacher within the eastern suburbs of Sydney, teaching students between the age of 6-24. I have mainly worked 1:1 with students, however have had lots of experience with groups up to 40 students across many instruments.
