Piano Lessons by an Australian (who speaks French)

Hello! My name is Kate and I am an Australian who is has been living in France since 2019. I am fluent in French and English is obviously my native language. :)

My educational background: I hold a Master of Art Therapy from The University of Paris with a major in music therapy, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with majors in Music and Psychology, and a Diploma of Languages with a major in French from The University of Queensland, Australia.

My piano lessons are built around enjoying the music, and understanding how it works. For children, I use interactive games and fun songs - equally for adults too! I can help you prepare for exams, and provide aid on music theory and history.

I have been playing piano since I was six years old. I also play the cello (since I was 9 years old).

Hello! My name is Kate and I am an Australian who is has been living in France since 2019. I am fluent in French and English is obviously my native language. My educational background: I hold a Masters of Art Therapy from The University of Paris with a major in music therapy, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with majors in Music and Psychology, and a Diploma of Languages with a major in French from The University of Queensland, Australia. As a native English speaker my goal is to instill confidence in my students (of all ages) of their ability to speak, use, and understand English. I use a variety of interactive methods including songs, actions, rhymes, books, and music. I am firm believer in 'trying' and as such I will encourage my students to use their English, regardless of how many faults they may make. It is only from making errors, that we can improve! Additionally, I am happy to work on assignments, test preparation, or any other English homework which may need completing. I can provide homework, or extension tasks as required. My lessons are largely immersion based, and as such I will avoid the use of French, unless an explanation is needed for clarity. I am happy to adapt to the needs of my students. I have been teaching English in France since 2019. Prior to arriving in France, I tutored for over two years in Australia, aiding students from ages 8 to 17 with a variety of subjects including English, maths, science, music, and french. I have extensive experience with children: I have been a scout leader since 2020 in Marseille, and have been involved with Girl Guides Australia since I was 7 years old, eventually leading a group of 10-17 year olds for over 4 years before arriving to France. I am located near Metro Prado, but can travel throughout Marseille. Depending on distance, travel costs may be in addition to class fees. I have a valid working with children background check in Australia, and hold first aid qualifications in France (PSC1).

Piano and Guitar Classes for Entry levels, Beginners, and Intermediates
I teach Entry level/Beginner/ Intermediate Piano and Guitar lessons with a focus on different styles, techniques, and rhythms from a broad base of musical genres. Classes are designed for aspiring musicians with some musical background and also those with little or none. Each lesson is designed to keep the student at the peak of their abilities by giving both challenging new pieces and reinforcing their own technical skill. I also put some emphasis on incorporating students' own personal musical tastes and styles to bring their passion to the music they want to play. In the first lesson, we can get to know each other and you can get an idea for how the lessons will be taught while letting me know what elements you'd like to focus on in the future.

From 2013 to 2015 I studied Piano at the Conservatory ‘Prince Claus’ in Groningen, The Netherlands where I worked mostly as a performer. In 2019 my CD ‘Breaths’ was released by British label Another Timbre. My pieces have been broadcasted by Keith F’eM, Concertzender Radio, and Radio 3 and my scores have been published in IM–OS Improvised Music-Open Scores and THE MASS. I've been teaching piano, music theory, improvisation, and composition for 12 years now. Learn Piano and Improvisation and practice other languages :)
The most important matter that I could write here about is my passion to teach. I've been teaching already for more than 10 years, from kids to adults. I'm a classical pianist, but I am opened to other musical styles. What I want you to get from your lessons with me, is not only a huge knowledge of theorical stuff or a great technique, I would like to show you my musical world, the imagination and inner exploration that is required to understand and to love music in a whole new level. Once you have found them, it will be very hard to quit playing! The class duration: You can choose! 20 minutes (Great for the youngest : 3 years old) 30 minutes (Ideal for young beginners from 4 years old) 45 minutes (Intermediate+ adult beginners) 1 hour (Intermediate and combined with some Music Theory) I use different methods depending on: 1) The goals of my student 2) The language that we will use on class 3) Age and musical preferences: I start to teach children from 3 years old, we make games and they learn to play through musical stories that I have created throughout my pedagogical career.

Sabina
Piano lessons for professional musicians or students want to study as a hobby
My basic principle and method in piano teaching are to show how to work on piano as a self-education. Most students cannot continue their studies after they stop working with a teacher. I explain the efficient ways of working with the instrument. I suggest taking 4-8 hours of lessons per month. Each lesson can be between 1-2 hours. It depends on the level of the student. During the class, I assign students to have at least 20 minutes of finger exercises, then to work on pieces that were individually programmed with the student. Additionally, I give listening, reading, and video as homework. I allow students to send me any progress or questions via recorded video or video interview so that they can follow their work until the next class.

Dominyka

Dominyka is a professional singer, singing and piano teacher that is currently based in The Hague. She plays piano, violin and writes her own music. Over the past decade she graduated from the Royal Conservatory in The Netherlands with Bachelor's and Master's degree in jazz singing and in pedagogical minor studies. She had a chance to participate in various music festivals as a singer, have concerts of her own, be behind the scenes in various TV shows, win several vocal competitions, and she truly developed her ears and her knowledge that she is now also able to help others to find their own unique singing voice. She has developed her knowledge about vocal technique, CVT method, stage presence, body language, story telling, composition, writing, improvisation, and so on. with various great teachers from all over the world. As well as, she had an honour to participate in workshops of Snarky Puppy, Dianne Reeves, Dena DeRose, Bob Stoloff, Norma Winstone, Fay Classon, etc. In addition, she took a course of Stevie Mackey, Cheryl Porter and had lessons with Natalie Weiss. "I feel like voice is a unique thing and music is such a good therapy. I believe everyone can sing, and I believe that everyone could sing greatly if they are patient and put work in it." - Dominyka "I promise that with our singing lessons you will learn more about your own voice and that you will develop your own sound as a singer. We work on warm ups/warm downs, breath support and its control, sound projection, how the larynx, jaw and tongue work and can be functioned freely, vowel placement, vocal effects, vocal colour, dynamics, articulation, stage presence, high notes - power singing (belting), jazz improvisation, vocal improvisation, interpretations, rhythmic variations, and so much more. My goal for you is to have the best time and spend lesson's time wisely while we achieve the best results in singing. If there is a wish, I can also help you to broaden your knowledge about the repertoire that is suiting to your voice colour, recording sessions, live performance situations, "a workout plan for singing", songwriting/composing, music theory, ear-training, solfeggio, and such." I can help all who are interested in finding their own authentic voice. P.S. ALL STYLES ARE WELCOME ! (pop/jazz/rnb/musicals/and so on) If you wish to learn how to play piano, read the notes, learn the basic or advanced music theory, practise solfeggio or learn more about jazz harmony - reach out to me because I teach that as well. Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Piano Lessons - from children to adults, any level. Classical music, pop/rock, etc.
Hello! I am classical pianist with a Master's degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. I teach Piano (and also Music Education) since 2016, to both children and adults. Teaching allows me to bring my passion and enthusiasm for music to the students, and I also find incredibly rewarding to guide and follow their musical and technical development! I am easily adaptable to the students' musical taste and expectations/goals in music learning, and I am also very mindful of how I communicate, according to the students' ages and personalities. I can teach classical music, pop, rock, or any other style. My approach consists of: giving you the necessary theoretical knowledge for what you wish to play; involving you actively in the choice of the pieces/songs you will play; setting up a long-term plan for your repertoire, so that your development is made step by step in a challenging - but achievable - way (and this way, you will feel more motivated!); giving you enjoyable and creative practicing strategies; creating a rich imagery revolving around the piece - by making up a story, relating the music to emotions, etc.; and also positive feedback! Thus, my lessons will allow you to: - Learn how to read scores. -Develop your musical understanding (from notes, rhythm, harmony, to musical taste, emotional comprehension of the music, or dive into aesthetic principles concerning the period and style of the piece,...). -Improve, step by step, until you are able to play that piece/song that you love. -Prepare yourself for exams. -Etc. The best thing is that it's possible for you to learn all this and have fun at the same time! Any question, don't hesitate to contact me.
