Music Theory for all levels: In this lesson you will get deep knowledge and understanding of music. Either you are a complete beginner, an instrumental performer, or you want to prepare for entrance exams into a music conservatories, these classes are perfect for you. Together we are going to read, listen and analyze music and work towards understanding it in a musical, structural and compositional level. In addition, for the instrumentalists that may join the class, we can even discuss and work on pieces that you are already studying at the moment, regarding on your musical interpretation, the piece's structure, analisys and time period.

The class will be taught in English and you can choose classic or pop music. I will be happy to teach you from beginner and I can teach you what you want to learn! From classic song from Beethoven to songs like Queen! Back in my home country, I was a piano teacher with 4 years experience and my student was children to senior! As a classically trained opera singer, I offer voice and piano/keyboard instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, and I believe that everyone has the ability to find their inner musician. Through voice or piano instruction, I aim to help each of my students find their unique musical voice while building a foundation of technique, and I encourage my students to embrace mistakes and imperfections in the learning process. I also embrace teaching a variety of genres including pop, jazz, musical theatre, classical, and accompaniment. Most importantly, I hope to inspire a genuine passion for music in each of my voice and piano students. Biography: Born and raised in North Carolina, Kennedy is a classically trained mezzo soprano. She teaches and performs across a wide range of genres, including classical, musical theatre, gospel, and pop. She found her passion for singing and performing at the age of 5 when she began to sing in church, and her love for the performing arts led her to participate in choir and musical theatre throughout school. She has performed roles such as Annie in Annie Get Your Gun and Cat in the Hat in Seussical. Kennedy began piano lessons at age 15 and classical vocal training at age of 17. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from UNC Chapel Hill, where she dove into classical vocal training and performed operatic roles such as the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas and Madame de la Haltière in Cendrillon. It was at UNC that Kennedy fell in love with performing opera and found that classical vocal training also improved her musical theatre and pop repertoire. After studying abroad in London and Florence during her time at UNC, Kennedy decided to return to London to pursue a master’s degree. She graduated in 2020 with a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where she was awarded the Kathleen Roberts Vocal Scholarship. During her time in London, she performed in venues such as The Queen’s House and Blackheath Halls, and sang various operatic roles such as The Third Lady in The Magic Flute, Gertrude in Louise, Ljubica in the contemporary chamber opera Svadba, and as Cenerentola in Cenerentola. She also gained training and experience singing in a wide range of languages, including Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Serbian. In addition to performing, Kennedy has an equal love for teaching and has taught voice and piano for over six years to students across London, North Carolina, and Spain. She currently resides in Madrid, Spain where she works as a music and English teacher.

My name is Pilar, I am a pianist and piano teacher with extensive experience in the field of music education. The areas in which I move cover various styles and levels. I am specialized in the interpretation of classical music, as well as in questions derived from musical theory: language, harmony or analysis. Likewise, I propose the classes in a didactic, flexible and dynamic way, learning about various styles, both classical music and current music. I am a female law graduate from Ireland and I am a part-time private piano/violin teacher. I am a native English speaker and I am currently living in Madrid. However, a lot of students only wish to learn the piano for fun! During the lesson, I will teach piano exercises (scales/arpeggios), pieces (classical/pop/preferred genre), music theorey (rhythm/note values) and sight reading. These classes are a very effective way to develop your skills in both music and English at the same time! A piano class for beginners. I have over ten years of piano and music theory experience and passion that I would like to use. Class units include: I. Develop Music Comprehension Skills: Teaching the basic music vocabulary, keys, theory, and techniques. II. Cultivate Motor Skills: Practicing chords, scales, muscle memory, using both hands, finger facility, and strength. III. Reading music: Practicing songs, chord building, intervals. IX. Integration: Combining all of these skills to read music and play beginners piano music, practice ear training, sight-reading, harmony, and advanced rhythms. X. Progression of song difficulty, and quantity and quality of pieces. Homework includes listening to songs to practice the Suzuki method and practicing scales, chords, and encouraging songs to be played 10-30 minutes each day.

Classes for all levels, from beginners to advanced who want to know more about their mechanics towards the instrument. In them, the correct technique will be emphasized to achieve good results with the instrument, always in an atmosphere of enjoyment and fun.
