Guitar teacher for many years, I am passionate about jazz, blues, folk and fingerpicking. My courses cover the basics of these different styles in a relaxed manner. Linking chords together smoothly, exploring different rhythms, correctly placing a melody, trying improvisation (jazz, blues, rock), developing finger playing techniques (classical or folk), are all elements at the heart of the learning. These are deepened by notions of music theory and/or music theory. Teacher trained in the "Arc-en-Sons" method, I also teach children from 4 years old Classes are for Beginner and Intermediate levels. Individual lessons (20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes). I see learning the instrument along three lines: accompaniment, musical understanding and improvisation. My name is Flora, I am 24 years old, I am a specialized Master's student at the Royal Conservatory of Mons in Han Bin YOON's class, and I am doing a didactic master's degree in parallel. I obtained my master's degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Marie Hallynck and Francis Mourey. I began my musical apprenticeship in France where I studied in music school then in Paris, with David Louwerse, Philippe Bary and Raphaële Sémezis. All the passionate teachers I had made me want to give lessons too, because I love human contact and sharing my passion. I also really like chamber music! Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'.
