I am a 26 year old teacher currently living in Brussels, Belgium. I was born in Istanbul, in a Greek and Armenian family. Turkish and Greek are my native languages. I studied English language teaching & Journalism at Marmara university. Currently, I am a senior in Greek language and literature. To me, being a learner is a full-time profession! I have received my DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) by Cambridge University. I believe learning a language should be based on communication. That's why, I always try to make my students talk more while I guide them. I use role-plays and communicative tasks a lot.

What to expect? Young children - More of a game/activity learning method but also involves learning a broad scheme of things. It is in a way, an introduction to the basics of the language. If no catch up is required a more friendly learning method can be applied depending on the learner's interests. I was born in Scotland but I grew up mostly in the french-speaking part of Belgium so I would say that both English and French are my natal languages. I have decent knowledge of the various English cultures, vocabulary, and grammar. Having traveled for a year in North America and having lived in Australia, Ireland, and Britain. My mother is an english teacher in a secondary school and has given private english lessons ever since we moved to Belgium when I was six years old . I have participated or helped in many classes when needed. I have access to a ton of material and her personal knowledge if I or we are experiencing a problem that we can't seem to solve. After obtaining my Master degree in applied communication, specialization in advertising and commercial communication at IHECS (2016), I worked two years in communication (fields: culture, e-learning and literature) and I then spent Aggregation of Higher Secondary Education in Information and Communication while working as an extra-curricular facilitator for kindergarten and primary school students (2018-2019). I gave classes in Media Education, Social Sciences, French and History-Geography in various schools in Brussels. I was an animator at the Patro for 9 years and trainer animators for 5 years. I grew up in the United States and completed my studies in the US as well. I have taught English to people of all ages and skill levels. I like to focus on communication and verbal expression from the very beginning, as I have found speaking is the quickest way to learn. I then incorporate small readings, like short news articles, so that the most useful and necessary parts of the language are learned first.
