Howdy there! Welcome to Cheryl's Flute Lessons!
With over 20 years of experience playing the flute, I am thrilled to share my passion for music and offer flute lessons to aspiring musicians in Northwest Houston. As a certified K-12 Music teacher in the state of Texas with nine years of teaching experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help students of all ages and skill levels embark on their flute-playing journey.
My unexpected passion for the flute began in 5th grade. When I blew across the lip plate on mouthpiece testing day, that headjoint sang out and I knew it was meant to be. Since then, I have dedicated myself to mastering this enchanting instrument. Over the years, I have honed my skills through disciplined practice, performances, and collaborations with ensembles such as the Civic Orchestra of Baton Rouge, the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, the Rapides Symphony Orchestra, and The Prevailing Winds. One of the highlights of my musical career was the unforgettable experience of performing in Carnegie Hall with my high school Wind Ensemble during my senior year of high school.
